as we know its all got to do with final diff ratios. I could gear my mustang to top out at 200ks or 300ks.
great drive by russell in the fujitsu series for 2 wins plus pole. he'd make a good 12hr driver next feb in a cup car.
12 hours of Bathurst should be good. Long enough to be a challenge but short enough to attract a decent field. So I'm watching the Touring Car Masters at the moment and I'm a little lost for words. Here's a category that looks historical on the surface, is marketed as an historical to the unwashed and yet distorts history altogethor by including cars that never raced as touring cars anywhere, hence giving the unwashed (most of whom can't remember last week) the illusion that this actually happened. It might be too early on a Sunday morning for me and I'm feeling a curmudgeon attack coming on but that's still annoying.
When one has paid the bills and knows the guys whom run the series yep I can understand why they are running modern gear. Its the only way they would get the gig with the V8s,by guranteeing full fields that did not end up with few cars racing at the end of the weekend.
Fully understand that. They'd have a 3 car field by Sunday morning otherwise. What I object to is making cars up from myths.
so true, good things to drive. my old '69 boss was timed at 297ks down conrod. very true, it's all my dad use to say but then you have to take into account the horsepower needed to make a car get to the "geared" top speed. No point gearing a mini for 300 kph when it'd be lucky to make 200
hahaha welcome to the curmudgeon club Patrick, it ain't cynicism when you realise the truth Strangely though I enjoyed watching it
I've seen Horse with Littledino more than Mrs Horse lately He must be picking the wrong set of keys out of the bowl at "those" parties
The crowd booed andhissed at him because he finished the race minus two cylinders and carrying far too many valves.
