I've had almost the exact experience you had with teams and races. :)

Same, but after restarting with HRT I gave up on "real" and just drove.

Yeah, after the 3rd race or so with HRT during my 1st season I pretty much quit going for real and just drove. Ended up winning 12 or 13 races on legend difficulty.

Thanks to SPEEDCORE's posts about P & Q, I'm also ignoring results for P & Q, and just racing. Easy to dominate -- LOL!

Also, this time through, I'm choosing the left-most answers in the Interviews. Some are pretty funny! Hope I get some offers before the 3 seasons are up.

They have updated the thread about FAQ's and your issue is discussed. According to them this shouldn't be happening.

Still no ETA on the patch. They need it out within the week.

Hence why I call BS on their part, when I was in Budapest Glock somehow worked his way into 3rd and was posting up times faster than Hamilton who was in 4th, there is just no way that should happen.

This no pitting thing is really annoying!!

Also another thing I have noticed that's annoying is when I'm trying to qualify/set a good time, the drivers that come out of the pits are "on it" straight away so half the time you are fighting for position just to get thru the 1st corner and of course you losing time trying to get pass them. What makes it worst is that they are not actually lapping so they are really just get in your way for no reason.

Yeah, "racing" during quali is an issue that I have ran into, sometimes literally, several times. I always just try and get out as soon as the session starts, and do my best to gap myself out if I do encounter traffic.

Been reading the forums... Apparently it took 5 weeks for the 1st patch to arrive for DIRT2(was it broken in the beginning tho?) and some of their other games have had similar long length of time before being patched... Which of course is very disturbing.

I raced Monaco in the pouring rain yesterday, damn I was struggling even with the highest down-force settings! After falling into the barriers a few times I accidentally hit the title leader *cough* and we both didn't score points for the weekend. I was also disqualified

I'm now limiting my races to 1 a day so I don't throw the controller out the window

The more I think about this game, the more the "problems" with it seem to not be the game's fault but in the nature of it. In 99% of all other video games you race and you are supposed to win. This time they had to create a game in which you didn't win and one where you had players on such significantly different playing levels. I think these things coupled with a few others made it such a hard to game to make that there is no way they could have done a very good AI, it's just not possible to do good AI and make everyone happy with it.

    I soooooo completely understand.

If AI's too easy, we're bored. If too difficult, we give up.

    Definite rubber-banding going on.

Kept restarting the race at Catalunya. At first, it was easy to walk away from the field. After 2-3 restarts, Vettel is all of the sudden faster. 2-3 more restarts, Webber joins him. 2-3 more restarts, Alonso. 2-3 more restarts, Massa. They all pull away from me now, never to be seen again.

Yes, some sort of algorithm going on. But there is also some "random" factor:

After so many restarts, all of the sudden, I'm faster than everyone again. Same car, same setup, same throttle/steering/braking -- the field changes from restart to restart.

I hope the PC version will be 'relatively' easy to mod.

What already annoys me from reading the posts is that you see glock finishing in 3rd etc. I had that with a mod for F1 Challenge, cars like Super Aguri's were getting pole positions and winning races with ease whilst Ferrari's and Mclarens etc where struggling to get points. Simply adding weight so slower cars to 'put them where they belong' worked a charm :D

Yeah, for the first week I could not wrap my head around what the problem was, I still can't quite figure it out. But I gave up, but it on the "hardest" easy setting (I usually win, but it takes some effort) and am just driving.

I also went to play some TDU the other day and after playing F1 for 2 weeks I can't drive normal cars now. I'm always braking too late and understeering around every corner, it's kind of funny. I wonder if F1 drivers have a hard time driving a normal car after a race?

That's funny, because I'm finding when I'm driving my real car, I'm now harder on the brakes and throttle, and I worry about where I apex each corner. LOL!!!

LOL!!! That's the part of the game you have to adjust to. I haven't had many spins because I stopped braking too late and getting the car unbalanced. Unfortunately, not enough time available to hit many races.

Just one race to go in my first season, cant win the championship but will probably end up 3rd. I accepted the contract offer from Ferrari for the second season.

    Uh, there is hope.

    What did you drive?

I'm on HRT and doing well enough to end up possibly 4th or 3rd in the championship.

Just finished the Turkish GP and scored my first victory in F1 2010. This was a great way to celebrate my 100th virtual GP! :)

I've been racing virtually since 2001. Did 100 GPs, scored 53 poles, 64 podiums, 45 victories and 4 championships. Had some great and some miserable years. Played on GrandPrix3 and GrandPrix4 on PC and F1 Championship Edition and F1 2010 on PS3.

I'm driving the Virgin. I had offers from almost all of the teams except McLaren but messed up the last race and all of them were withdrawn except for Red Bull, Ferrari and HRT. Im supposed to me Alonso's number 2 but we'll see about that :D

Shanghai in heavy rain: Smooth on and off, brakes and throttle. Smooth into and out of turns.

Turn after turn, lap after lap -- smooth, smooth, smooth!

I just had the worst race yet in this game. 2nd season at Monaco with Force India. The framerate drop was so bad I couldn't even see the corners. I was basically driving blind, and to top it off the computer pulls me out of the pits right in front of de la Rosa and he rear-ends me, guess who gets the 10 second penalty? We need a patch NOW.

There is no way I would be able to remember all that from 1998 when I started racing on the Ps1.
