Thanks for the info. I just joined the club. For owners I don't see why anyone would not join when the 10% discount off of service is likely very close to the cost of membership. Hopefully I'll see you guys around at some point.

Hi CG, thanks for posting the link. That is much better and less commercial. I am just doing my job and deleting what is not allowed according to the fchat rules on behalf of Rob. There were many compaints behind the scenes regarding these links. I must admit I have let many slide in the 6 years i've been doing this. But some I just gotta follow through and delete. Such as the blatant ones shown here. The user also registered with a company name which is wrong to begin with. Cheers,
Nor is this board yours, CG. It is Robs. It is his sand box and he makes the rules. I see Vasco has answered you in that it was he not I that nuked the post. I only commented on it. I think you must not have seen it. It is sad the text of the post is gone, if you had read it, you would have seen it and the 3 others he made were blatant advertising to sell services and drive traffic to his videos. His registration was likewise souly for that purpose and all of his whopping 3 posts were essentially the same thing. Every one. That is advertising on Rob's and this boards back with out contributing to the forum. A long time user may have gotten off with a warning and some editing. A new guy who does it fresh out of the box get a bit sterner smack. Do it at your peril. I do not know of a respected car forum of this size that does not operate in a similar fashion.

Yes i will agree with you there but to knock someone's work like that, I dont think it was very mature. If he is doing that on F-chat then pay to use it, plain and simple
If you were merely enforcing Rob's rules, why did you feel the need to share your opinion on Errol's work? With your prejudice clearly stated, I find it interesting that you refer to posting a clip, containing exotic cars and jets from a charitable event in Alberta, in the Alberta forum, "spam". I would think everyone would want to see it, and if they don't like the work, they wouldn't have to look at it again. A "stern smack"... (it appears that you long for authority you don't otherwise have in your day to day life). Had you communicated with Errol, advised him of the rules and welcomed him to the "community" he may have become a F-Chat sponsor. That said, who would want to sponsor a thread like this one with someone like you moderating it, or treating the people who take the time to post to it in the way that you do. I spoke with Errol yesterday afternoon, and he had no idea that he had violated any rules... I also find it interesting that you boast of the number of "punks" you have regulated. Again, it appears you are more interested in exercising "authority" than "enforcing the rules". You remind me of all of those members of law enforcement that people on this site complain about, those who are arrogant, insecure and ready to exercise their authority with heavy handed attitude, all under the guise of "enforcing the rules" but really trying to compensate for their own inadequacies and jealousy. I clearly have to side with CG and his choice of words. Why did you not talked to Errol first? What would have happened if I were to post the links to his work of Race the Base? Also I think you should be reminded that the event was a Breast Cancer fund raiser. WAIT a SECOND, I did post is in the Saskatchewan thread, was it deleted? I dont think so. AND if I remember clearly, A lot of people on these two threads were at that event, so they clearly would have wanted to see the video. I cant speak for Errol but am sure he was posting in this thread to demonstrate the fun the members of this community were having at the event and yes it is his work, dam good i might add. So maybe DrSL you should perhaps talk to people and advise them of the rules instead of flexing your all mighty might of the delete function. Communicating with people gets a far better reaction and goes much further than being a all mighty holder of the delete function.
You must not have seen them then. Had he just posted the Youtube, just as you have done, and NOT the offers to buy/sell his services, he would have been fine. You are doing both. And all my conduct was to mention it, nothing more. Subscribe and support us/we/them and we can talk about my sig as much as you like in the Silver section. It should be enlightening to you. As for Errol, try to understand, his conduct was against the forum rules which he virtually signed when he joined. We take this seriously and if you do not, I am sorry. He contributed nothing but requests to view his business and pump his business, and he did it three times in three different forums. This is banned and a ban-able offense, esp if it is all you do on a first try. I am sure if he would like to email Rob, Rob may re-enstate him. That has happened in the past and I support it on a case by case basis. If we PM'ed or other wise talked to everyone that did this, that would take up every mods and as you say "wanna be mods" time because this stuff is legion. Either way, I am done with this issue here. That is a great idea. Let's end this here. CG & Phil, there seems to be a bit of confusion. But I was the one that deleted the posts and banned the user. Once again, he came on with a commercial username (first mistake) and then posted two posts simply with links to his video. There are better ways to come across but at the same time I do realize that people may not mean any harm, nor know the rules here. My intentions are not to be an a hole nor unfair. Errol is free to email Rob or I to explain that he didnt know the rules and simply get a new username. He may even want to be a sponsor. Who knows. I am with you on this. Errol has some amazing talent and I enjoy his videos. I believe he was only trying to show support and spread the amazing events that ZR and his crew are involved in.
