I had someone do it on the outside of my 2003 911 turbo years ago. It slightly damaged the paint because it dried in the summer sun.

People can be scum. It is sad.

 

Never had that happen. I leave the top down and roll op the windows when I park in town. Usually when I come back to the car someone is taking a picture or just looking at it.

If people started spitting in my car I guess I would put the top up.

Maybe it's the economy. What happened to Southern Hospitality and genteel manners?

Sounds like a bad day, I know how something seemingly insignificant can tug at your heart strings. We all take pride in our belongings, unfortunatly there is nothing you can do about someone elses insecurities, why else would someone feel te need to do something like this?
Only a couple reasons come to mind...

1) Taking out their frustration about their own insecurities on someone who they perceive to be more successful based on the car they drive vs.their own.

2) Stupid beyond comprehension.

3) Have a hatred for foreign cars

My money is on #1, very sad for whatever the reason.

 

A long time ago someone upgraded the paint on my 1973 Vega by keying it, so some retard will definitely spit in a Ferrari.

This kind of thing still amazes me! The thought going through the head of someone who would do that. I can only guess what they perceive it as:

You are successful, living the "dream" and they see it as you are rubbing it in to the less fortunate.

But what they dont understand or see, is the hard work to get there! The work that most these people are quick procrastinate to do. So all they do is talk about it, instead of just doing it. They want a hand out, instead of a hand in.. You can not change these types, I see them all over.. but luckily they keep to them selves around here.. but their words are louder than their actions.

Anyone can spit on a ferrari, not many can buy the ferrari and spit at them.

 

Hey, it could be worse. The Pita people could have poured red paint over the fine leather interior.

Honestly, I don't understand how people can't respect the possesions of one another. What good does something like this do?

I drive a 2003 911 Turbo and ever since the economy tanked, more people attempt to tailgate me and generally act rude. There are a lot of angry people taking out their frustrations out on the road, probably due to economic problems, IMHO. But someone spitting in your car is beyond belief.

Not sure how far you wanna take it - but my bet is they have cameras on the lot.

 

Remember back when shootings were common in road rage.. I think it needs to happen again so people drive correctly. just a thought

 

As awesome as a spyder (or any convertable) looks with the top down, I honestly don't know how one can leave it parked for hours like that. I see it no different than living in a nice neighborhood, and leaving your doors and car unlocked.

Better safe than sorry is my moto. Next time it could be someone dumb who decides to do a number 1 or number 2 on it. I hate the fact that there are haters out there (I've been keyed twice in 2 different states) but it's the world we live in.

 

Well, find out who it is (loogies should yield plenty of usable DNA) and go spit in THEIR car.

Thats disgusting but it doesnt surprise me, in this economic climate their is alot of pent up anger out there and to some people a Fcar is a big F-U. Its an easy target I am afraid.
