I'm heading to the Wine Country store in the morning! I actually am taking my boys to Caneros Inn for the night. Maybe some swimming so it's actually on the way. Many thanks guys. Unfortunately, I don't have the 458 anymore. It's sold. I do have a new one coming in 3 weeks though! Basically the same except this one is black not metallic black with yellow stitching and more carbon fiber. Oh and black interior. Few more options but nothing crazy. If I went, I'd take the RX7 or the 550. . . well, no I'd take the RX7. It's totally track modified and is ridiculous on the track. Especially one like Infinion. I think it's up to 380 HP on a uber light car with twin turbos and intercooler and. . . ah you get the picture. LOL I have to be the only clown in the country that's on his second 458.
What a drive! Thanks Italiani. I am the one that sleeps in all the time but waking up at 5.30 and start "driving" at 6.30 with some F1 drivers around some amazing roads it's well worth it. Nobody on the road and back by 10 is perfect for me. Let' do it again. The sunrise and the fog gave it very special ambience. Thanks Butchi for getting me hooked on FOG.
Yes, it was dark when the dynamic duo were filling up, likely around 6 am, or so. I actually got to the same station at about 6:30am, and got to the meeting point at 6:40 am, delaying the departure somewhat. Sorry, bros. Thanks Italiani, once again. Excellent route. The legend of Italiani lives on. It is not an easy feat trying to catch that "golden gopher". Sledge is accurate in saying in usual suspects fashion, " and just like that, he's gone.". I love following you, brother, but love it even more when others try to follow you and get to appreciate your talent and bravado. One of these days we gotta get you to come to the East Bay, again. EKS, good seeing you again. Hope you get the car figured out soon. They are passionate but temperamental machines. Sledge, the car's looking and running great. Do you drive with the heater on sometimes? I confess that I do. It can get pretty cool during these runs in the early am Chrigel, it's been a loaf of fun, this summer/fall. We got a lot more drives in us this season. Hang out with me often and we'll put the miles on your car, say 5,000/yr at least. How was the yacht club F-party? Dang tired today. Went over the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge 4 times today. It's all worth it!
...Wow. I thank you all for attending the drive. I know that it's an early one for us all but I think the view of a clear road was the just reward. Still left time to head out to the Nut Tree airport and see the War Birds and 10 (!) P-51's...not static either, sounds and smells: of old leather, burnt oil and raw exhaust. (a bit like the GT4 actually) Butcher: As always great driving with you and your enthusiasm spills over to us all. Glad the car and the service department were kind to you and that you were mechanically sound to drive. Sledge, Dude!, I have one word for that car of yours: Sinister. Low, chunky in the most svelt of ways and the wheels...blink and I think 288. Some fun with the fools in the Honda on the way home, huh? EKS, landed in the shop, flat bed tow and no fire scarecrow. Even had cell service when the 106,000 mile Mondial took a break...see you next time. Chrigrel, thanks for making the drive out, there's lots more to enjoy. 4RE456...we were lookin' for you, and hope more FOGer's can make the next one. And Stew, good of you to check out the die hards, we will see you in an Italian car yet ! . Again, Grazie Mille. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You guys are the "Real McCoy" the "Fearsome Foursome!" Much respect from the rest of us especially Ponch who had to be up around 5 am to make the drive.
Dr. Italiani, sorry to have missed you at the Nut Tree but I've got some pics to share. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's a good kind of clown to be! But I think there are several people in this country on their 2nd 458. You are the the first one whose first 458 didn't spontaneously combust.
We started out as the "Fast Force Five"...However, the 106,000 mile (!) Mondial was having none of it with the left bank ECU deciding it was all through, all done, no more. Flat bed and a AAA driver for company home
