The GT2 with its rear wheel drive will have a heck of a time going sub two... well enough 2.7 (I believe the 2.7 0-60 time is the PDK Turbo-S with all wheel drive... Not the GT2).

The year that has the weight to power ratio of a Hayabusa.

    Never.

Even with AWD and all the power you want it wouldn't happen with DOT tires as the rate of acceleration would be greater than 1g. Difficult to do with anything having treads even if it was 400mm wide.

A Veyron reportedly does it in 2.46s. Unless super-sticky tires are used and heated mercilessly for a drag run, you won't see street-legal times any faster than that. Even then getting more than 1g acceleration is difficult.

    0-60 in 2 seconds would be 1.24 g.

Apart from the limitations mentioned already: I know you guys hate electric motors in cars, but they would provide, given the same power, for faster acceleration due to the full torque being available from 0rpm.

True. Battery weight is probably the limiting factor (?)

That depends on the battery! See Tesla for electric car performance :)

World record drag radial car ran a 4.403 1/8th mile at 179 MPH with 315mm wide tires, and weighed 3250lbs. These tires are street legal with DOT approval ratings. Wouldn't drive with them in the rain though...

Pretty sure that would definitely be sub 2 second 0-60mph times.

I doubt it could ever be accomplished in a Porsche with out a front engine V8 conversion as I don't think you could build a Porsche engine with that kind of power. Plus the rear weight bias, chassis design, and independent suspension are way more of a limiting factor than and tire traction concerns.
