    HI all,

    1. What's the best forum for this car, for owners and those who wish to mod??
    2. How similar is the E-Gear Gallardo and the R-Tronic semi auto's?? Have read on Wiki, that there the same, but there has to be Manufacturer specific differences?

    Disclaimer: :)

May ask more questions dependent on a reply....

I believe the R8 R-Tronic is a torque converter auto whereas the Gallardo E-Gear is a dual clutch type auto-manual. From what I've read, Audi does plan to make a 7 speed S-Tronic dual clutch auto-manual available soon though. The R8 is much better longer IMHO...

I have read that neither of those answers are true. The e-gear has a single clutch. The R8 is the same. It is not the Audi dual clutch (found on the A3 and GTI).

Take a look at - although I just found that site

You are correct...the R-Tronic is a 6 speed single clutch auto-manual. FYI, my 2010 S5 Cabriolet has the 7 speed S-Tronic dual clutch gearbox, as does the S4 sedan. And, I had heard from the folks at the Audi tent at Petit Lemans that the S-Tronic was going to be used in future R8 models instead of the T-Tronic.
