Jet, great to finally see you again. Love your CS, makes me want to have my calipers painted. Let's get together soon and do some real photo shoots with the CS's.

thanks to everyone that participated today. Can you think of any better way to spend a Saturday morning?

4RE,
Congrats brother! I think I'll take you up on your previous offer. What a gorgeous machine. Nothing makes a lot of us happier than seeing a new owner trying out his new ride on these fabulous roads. Your smile and zealous enthusiasm reminded me of Hiros a few weeks ago. As I said to him, I also say to you, congrats on your new 4RE, you work damn hard for it, and deserve all that it brings. It feels good to achieve a dream, I remember the "new" feeling. It never gets old seeing this enthusiasm.

Italiani and C,
I'm up for drivin with you any time any place brother. As long as the car is in working order. Never a dull moment. Appreciate the " en fuego" comment. I suspected, but never knew it did that.
Vraiment,
Once again, A plus event and venue. It's great to appreciate the "stunning views" from wherever they may be. We got a lot of thinking and work to do, but I am truly looking forward to it all.
355 brothers(A,J, and T). Way to represent. I am truly proud of our chariots. They can hold their own.
Jet and Hiros, way to represent the 5 valves per cylinder, in it's finest form. If I would be enticed by FOG peer pressure to "move up", that may be the direction I would go to. Or possibly a 550 like Daks

JoeH, brother, what surprise car do you have for us next? You must have a beautiful garage.

Anatoly,
Great looking Rims. Must be truly fun whipping that "Challenge" Cali through the courses.

EP and JD keep thinking up an East Bay route my friends, soon. Whatever happened to the Dublin group.

Everyone else who couldn't make it, 2 weeks!

You asked.....

Apples and Oranges (F430 vs. 456M)

There really is no comparison. A V8 vs. V12, a 2 seater vs. a 2+2, a mid-engine vs. a front engine, shorter (177.6 in) vs. longer (187.5 in), lighter (3197 lbs) vs. heavier (3902 lbs), more hp (483 hp) vs less (442 hp) although my 456 supposedly has a modified 505 hp - at least that is what the NY Dealer told me. ;) Top speed: 196 mph vs. 186 mph. The 456 still has the antiquated pop-up headlights. But there is something oddly appeasing to me about pop-up headlights. I remember as a kid seeing the first pop-up headlights on my best friends dad’s Porsche and thinking this is too cool. He could make it wink.

You can’t ask for two more different Ferraris. They are completely different experiences albeit both are quite pleasing. The 456 offers more comforts and space and feels like you’re sitting in a sedan but drives like a monster. I can actually pile the kids in the car and go for a great drive with the family – this is clearly special. The F430 makes me want to race at Infineon trying to keep with the likes of Vraiment, da1235, Dr. Italiani, and the rest of the FOG rat pack.

The 430 sings an opera that is melodious with an intoxicating multitude of notes as you finger flick the paddles. Wow! The 456 growls a distinct deep throated note; not too much variety but what a sound. You have to respect the unique and nasty deep throated sound that only a V12 engine can construct.

Talk about nimble through all the twisties today - the 430 hugged the road like a Chilean miner who hasn’t seen his mistress and wife for months. I don’t even think that I needed the carbon ceramic brakes today. Hit the left paddle shifter quickly twice and take a sharp turn in 3rd and then kill it again...unbelievable! The 430 takes turns with eagerness and dexterity; the 456 hesitates but yearns for the straight away. It feels like the equal to the 430 off the blocks but quickly learns it is no match on the snake-like turns of wine country.

So you ask what is the difference in driving experience between the two cars? Well the F430 blows the 456M out of the water. But you may also ask what do you like more the 456M or the F430? To me this is like asking what do you like more thin crust or deep dish pizza, an Enzo or a 250 GTO. You probably like them both but one is clearly better. Well actually it’s like asking the Chilean miner what do you like more your wife or your mistress. Of course everyone knows I am happily married and my only mistress is my wooden wife (Ida May). And of course if you ask my wife which car she likes more.....she will say neither! Can you believe she still hasn’t seen it and it’s sitting in our garage?

So you ask again what do you like more? Hmmmm.....my wife! :)

I need the brownie points after making this purchase.

Thanks for that comparison 4RE. You and Butcher are the FOG poet laureates. :). So in Chilean miner terms which would you hug first after getting out of the mine? I've heard that women like spas if that helps? :) :(

4RE,
Awesome comparison. They are both wonderful cars.

However, I must say that we are all sorry for being such "bad influences" for livingthe F-car lifestyle. It truly is an addiction, that is running in epidemic velocities through the FOG pack. Only choice is to hold the bimonthly group therapy/biofeedback/acting out sessions as structured by the FOG board of directors.

Wow, she hasn't looked at the car yet? Now I know why we only got one story. That was pretty hilarious the other night, I can't stop laughing everytime I think about it.

I have to echo, again, however, "Congrats again on the purchase"

...it appears that particular Ferrari"s Eye is looking at your shoe!

Where do you shop to get that kind of attention?
