tifosi12 is on the money tho I tried Hungary with a medium low setting and was fastest.

I tried Spa with min down force and I kept falling off the track at the end of the straight  so I use the 2nd from the right.

If you want to look for custom setups for each track give this forum a go http://www.racedepartment.com/f1-2010-setups/

Also some news on the patch from friday.

Seriously looking forward to the patch. I'd really like more difficult AI.

Also, finally broke into the 1:11's in Montreal :D

I just had a wet race. Rained throughout the entire race. I never had to go to the pits for another set of tires, nor did the AI cars.

I always thought that the teams MUST change the tires at least once per race. Does this not apply to wet races?

Do you guys notice any improvement when changing the engine setting from standard to fast?

I'm too inconsistent with the controller to really know for sure but it seems like there is

    Haven't tried that yet.

They gave me brake upgrades and I felt the difference.

I'm still trying to figure out whether there is tire wear vs brake wear and fuel load getting lighter. I only do 20% races but in other games you could accelerate these effects simulating an entire race distance. Comments?

Racing in China last night & holding first, I was ordered to pit only be held there way too long for some unknown reason. Maybe the lollipop operator has ADD, I ended up restarting the race to correct the issue. Also have to agree the AI is easy but I'd get a contact penalty for being in the way of a drone that made contact with another drone, that damn patch can't come soon enough.

I do 40% races and I can't feel a thing for any of them. Somehow I did a quicker time on the 5th lap of the race than I did in qualifying the AI also did a quicker times in the race than quali. Not noticed and tyre or brake wear either, I'm gonna do a full race distance later today, I'll report back if I've noticed any of these things.

I can feel a huge difference when turning the engine up, at Monza was something like 5mph faster down the main straight from it.

That sounds bad and somehow along the lines of my own experience.

I did Canada yesterday, a track notorious for eating brakes. In GP4 I had to nurse them across the finish line. Absolutely no brake fade whatsoever.

I'm still not too atuned to the game that I could actually feel tire wear, but it seems there is none. At least the little graph doesn't indicate any.

But I'm also not sure I have figured out all the settings/options in the game. Maybe there is one switch somewhere that mimicks realistic tire/brake degradation and fuel weight?

On a positive note: It is great to finally have a game in hand with current cars and tracks. Drove my first race at Valencia and have to say I actually like the place. It doesn't look great on TV (nor when you sit there), but for a driver it is so much more interesting than e.g. Canada: There is a ton of different turns and the close walls make it challenging enough.

I simply can't race with tire sim on, I think it is not only tire wear because it really slows me down even with brand new tires. 1st flying lap at Budapest with tire sim, 1:27, 1st flying lap without tire sim, 1:23. I love the tire wear but I just slows me down too much to be competitive.

I gain about 4 MPH on long straights with the engine setting on fast. Also seems to be more responsive, might just be me imagining it though.

Just finished Valencia for the first time. Won from starting 3rd.

After the race, the results screen showed me at P1, but listed the rest of the field as "+1 LAP".

    I never lapped anyone. . .

    ? ? ?

Most likely a penalty, in the third sector it's hard not to a cut corner. I just went from second to 9th on the last lap buy getting bumped in to the gravel.

Anyone have any tips for car setup on Valencia?

I never tried messing with the setting on the ps3 but it's usually pointless. It seems to have cleared up. Overall the game is really, good, other that they seem to hold Liuzzi in very high esteem. He was second in points to me for most of the season until Webber finally caught him. Title clinched by Spa....:)

Halfway through the season a bunch of teams are interested in me for next season. Now I got a contract from my own team. I wanted to decline it, but hit the wrong button and accepted it. :(

Now all the other teams have no more interest. What kind of reality is this, where a signature on a F1 contract actually means something? :p

Anyway, am I done for now for this season or will other teams eventually come back with offers? I hate to throw away half a season and restart from scratch. I really don't want to drive this car next year again. :(

I think you're pretty much locked in. I don't know what point in the game you're at (I'm at Spa) but I did the same thing. I didn't get an offer from Ferrari yet so I just re-signed with Sauber for the big contract. I'll probably just keep going and see how it plays out. I was a bit surprized that I didn't get an offer from one of the big three after winning the title, but maybe I just didn't wait long enough...

Clinched my 2nd WDC at Spa, and picked Rosberg as my rival. I'll be at mercedes next year.

    Ah shoot.

The friggen game asks you for confirmation for the simplest tasks yet such a season deciding thing is done for on one single button push?

    Darn. I just wasted 11 races :( :( :(

Yeah the big teams will only offer you a contract based on your game level. I think it was level 20 before Ferrari was interested. You can keep rejecting offers till the final race of the season. There is no need to sign up early, every time you reject them they come back with a bigger offer(not that it matters you can't spend your money lol). I didn't get the Ferrari contract till the last race of the season.

Even if you keep declining contracts the game will give you a team at the end of the season. At least the contracts are only 1 season.

I'm currently leading the title with Ferrari on my 2nd season but Ferrari have yet to ask me to stay on...

Good to know this. Thank you.

Because I always answer Interviews with the left-most answer, I selected Hamilton as Rival. After beating him (clinched WDC) , McClaren has a contract offer that I'm about to accept. In retrospect, if I had selected Alonso instead, I'd probably already have a Ferrari offer. But I will hold out for Ferrari -- even if it means waiting till the last race.
