    Hi M,
I could not find your earlier post about your spec list for the GTO.
Could you kindly pls present it here in this thread again?

I would like to know if options like 4 Point Safety Harness and Road Legal Roll Bars could be installed at the dealer after the car has been delivered?

    Look forward to the responses.
    Thanks in advance,

Full spec is here in post #20: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280468

Can't answer your question if it possible to install the 4 point safety harness and Road Legal Roll Bars afterwards but it might prove difficult. Will be expensive for sure ;)

OK. Just finished a little special "project" on my GTO. There is a special Old Timer event with some impressive cars registered to participate in this event (Porches, Ferrari's, AM's, RR's, Bentley's, ...) this weekend.

Ferrari is omnipresent and invited some customers asking them to come over with modern cars as well. So, I thought I would do something special, racing inspired. Since the GTO got it's pedigree from the 599 XX, I thought it would be nice to have some 599 XX numbers designed.

Note that I removed the inscription "599 XX Programme" with "599 GTO". Why the number 78? In support of the Scuderia as Massa carries number 7 and Alonso number 8 in F1.

I have to say that I'm pleased with the outcome. Makes the car look even more aggressive in the flesh. This isn't permanent and can be easily removed. But ... I'll keep it on for while.

Thought I would share this with you guys ;)

What an AWESOME idea with the XX numbers and the thought behind 78, simply perfect!

I really like how this suits the GTO.

I´m looking forward the the "event debriefing"! ;)

    Hi M,

May I ask you for a small favour?

Could you please have a look at your GTO owners manual and post or pm the number that is shown on the back cover of the book?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Ciao,

    Lars T.

    Very nice.

I was looking at Autogespot earlier today and it looks like the "spotters" didn't waste any time to get up to date with the latest news---> http://www.autogespot.com/en/viewimages.php?id=c214748364817102010192734

Amazing how many times your car was spotted. A real internet celebrity :)

You seem to have a lot of enthusiastic "spotters" in Belgium.

I gave a short ride in the 599 to a young Belgian boy in Monaco once. He said he was a member of Autogespot and asked me to if he could upload the pictures he took of the car there. That's how I discovered the site. I sometimes find myself wasting abnormal amounts of time just looking at cars there. I never saw the pictures he took of our car in the end... :(

    M. It seems that as long as you drive your GTO you will never be lonely! Not sure who is getting more coverage these days. Angelina&Brad or you and your 599 GTO!

I'll send you a PM when I get a chance to check this.

Thanks. It was a great event. Disney Land for guys ;)

Indeed. No privacy with spotters around. Some of them do really take very nice pictures.

No kidding. If only I would get paid for it like they do ;)

I'm sure that if she really wanted one ... she could get one ;) Angela in a GTO ... I can think of a couple of scenarios :)

    Hi guys,

Please tell me, just out of curiousity: what's the use of knowing the number on the book? Every car has a different number, or does the number differ from type to type?

    Hey Martin,

Indeed, every single piece of paper that leaves the factory to be shipped to customers bears a number. I personally wanted the number so I can order one of the owner manuals through our Dutch dealers :)

    Yours,
    Jurgen
