Wow!! That was some video.
Cool video. I'd like to see what the view from inside the P-car was as it started to spin. Lucky for him it was on an open corner and not into a wall.
Great video Vraiment! The scud shift sounds so violent and awesome. Here is a clip following some guy in a R8. Definitely need to get a better video setup. It will not mount on the windshield because the rake is too steep. With it being on the back window get a fair amount of wind noise etc. You can see the tach in the lower left for some good shifts (old fashion style with the ol heel toe) Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTwr5eqelu0
V Thanks again for getting us together for Monday's event and posting up the video. I had a blast. Even with all the BS associated with the first two sessions, the rest of the day was fantastic. I kind of wish I had stayed in your run group for the remainder because it is much more fun to drive in the FOG.. The M group I ran in later was fast but I only had one challenger in that group as there was no likes of SKUSA, V and lets not forget Italiani. You guys are seriously fast! Italiani... I completely understand where you were coming from. In the drivers meeting following your departure, I walked in to hear myself being blamed for terrorizing a slower car who was lapping two times slower than me. I was asked to consider moving to M after I made my point that if he thought I was pressuring him, perhaps he should use his mirrors, then follow the point by passing rule, and pick up all the corner workers who were flagging him for two laps as he and whatever instructor riding shotgun both were running blind. Maybe the clown in the black 535 should have been meatballed! We all missed you and hope you'll try it again. Andrew... Your 355 was cooking and is just plain smoking hot. Sitting trackside as you blew down the main straight, that exhaust tone was ripping through the bleachers like a banshee! Thanks also for posting up the pics. Jim... nice to see you again and tracking along side that beautiful yellow F430 was a thrill. That car is almost too pretty to be seen amongst the likes of the "Popemobile". Speaking of which, someone hast to post pics of that "LeMons" car. Chuck... It was a pleasure to finally meet you. Your enthusiasm is very much appreciated. It only gets better the more you do it as you begin to get to the limit of yourself and your car. Best wishes on the mechanical fix. I have a feeling Brian will get it back to you soon. FOG... Lets do this again. Perhaps the bylaws will include some sort of track day participation rule... I know, that sounds kind of crazy
Great video. The soundtrack after the opening credits was wonderful. Looks like you boys had some fun.
Some tracks allow them. Much more fun when the top is down and the wind at speed blows your head against the backrest! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great video! The P-car spin was a great sequence, though I'm sure too "exciting" at the time. The video clearly showed that the driver locked up his brakes and did not counter-steer enough. I'm guessing he went into the turn too hot and lifted, which induced the oversteer, then locked his brakes rather than counter-steered and either scrubbed off speed or reapplied throttle to gain back some traction. Of course, this is easy to say from sitting at the computer....

Thanks for posting the video, SK! Great to see you and the Rebel following the line. The near take at the double apex of 7 was interesting, --- I could feel the frustration of no point by!!
Yes it looked like you were taking a "slide on the wild side" there on turn 10. Not for the faint of heart. I think I got that about 1:05 on this video. Very nice save Italiano, the GT 350 wasn't so lucky.... err skilled. Italiano and SKUSA tip toeing around a wet track Monday morning. Notice how much Italiano slows down we going through the wet... Not! You can see the Shelby GT350 at the end after kissing the inside wall of turn 10. That turn is a hungary little thing. Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK65m8Pro6g
SKUSA, great video! I like the mount location because I found myself watching your eyes as you survey the course. Every once in a while they get really large. Too bad you were stuck behind that guy in the R8 for most of the run.
Yeah, turn 10 may have been at about 3:50 in the video. Your eyes got pretty large when you saved that torque steer in the wet! Watching that video just reminds me of the drives, as it always seems there is an R8 and/or "black monster" 355 either in my immediate front view or rearview mirror.
You "Track Stars" are my heros! Great vid and great stories. SKUSA and Italiani were driving deftly on the early morning slick track. You guys were lapping everyone. Crazy stuff, geez made me sweat seeing you guys make the turns so aggressively on 4 and 7 on the wet track.
When do you take your new ride to the track, 4RE886? Yeah, like I'm one who should be talking about tracking right now.
I will be there on the next FOG track day - can't wait. Great to see a post from Beaker! I could take a few lessons from you on the track!
Thanks for the videos. Looks like you all had a good time on the track. Now thats a drive i couldn't get lost on but i know you would be lappping me. Gavin
...Great video, I suppose there were good sessions to be had...just too many rules for Italiani...Getting Black flagged for passing after being stuck there for months (!) and getting the sign to pass, but not doing it in the "right" place...baloney ! The 14 minute video was GREAT TO WATCH, I think you were driving that 355 at 100%+ in some places; to keep up with that well driven R8, Hear Ye, Hear Ye !!! we may have a new 'fast guy' in FOG, SKUSA you may be him... !!! If you are, I promise to get the heck outa your way ANY saturday morning ! Bank on it ! I WON'T hold you up... Great control and well driven, it takes balls to break the rear end out of a 355 ! I salute you. Turn 10 was $50k turn for one poor fellow in A Genuine Shelby GT 350...shame. Tip toeing through in the first wet cold session was a good exercise in car control...before lowering the air pressure in all four !!! looking forward to the next FOG TRACK DAY, let Vraiment know if you are interested in coming out with a FOG only track day...that's next !!! 4RE...you listening???
Hahahahahahahahahaha! I wouldn't mind being Mr. 886, but I'm holding out for 1057. I will track both, but I'll be satisfied with 550 in the meantime while I wait for my dreams to come true. Book it. I'm in.
Italiano, Thank you for the kind comments, but I dare say the car control you have displayed on so many occasions is something I only dream of. Hauling that American Iron through the wet with 98% of the weight on the front with such apparent ease and skill is a sight to behold. To all of you that were at Infineon this week, thanks for some truly great memories. I hope we can get a FOG day at the track in the future. Vraiment, thanks again for helping make this event happen.
Looking ahead, the October 29th date is fully subscribed, but there is a November 20th date that is open to all levels at Infineon. That's pretty late in the season and there is a risk of rain, and, even without rain the track may not heat up much. Unless this bizarre weather keeps up, I suspect we'll need to wait until the Spring. With that much lead time we may well be able to get that FOG-only run group.
Agreed, perhaps we could plan 2 dates, one in late spring/early summer and the other in the fall. It would be a great complement to the Sat drives.
Post of the year, right here, although I'm sure cyclists and onlookers have even more names in store for us.
