Someone who does stuff like that is a complete jackass and always will be. They are stuck in a going nowhere job and they know that they couldnt even afford the oil change on your car.

Unfortuneately, I have had simlilar things happen to my Ferraris. Gum stuck on the outside, floor mats stolen.........twice. , beer cans thrown in it, shields stolen off of it, girls climbing in to take pictures (that i can let slide :) )

I've finally learned my lesson: Never park it where you can't see it, or never park it where a valet attendant can't see it 10 feet from them.

If you are worried about someone vandalising your car, then you should not own a soft top. If someone wants something in your car, I'd rather them reach in and take it instead of cutting. As awful as this was, I will not drive my car to places dictated by any fear of being vandalised. Well, I take that back, I won't go clubing in it.

I like the checking of the DNA.

I think I know who did it. But i dare not speculate. I will look to see if there is a camera in the shopping center. Just for kicks!

    Doah!

The girl at the restuarant said the camera only covers the from patio but not the spaces in front of the patio. I will try the shopping center owner.

I parked my car way out in the middle of nowhere in a parking lot to eat lunch, and, when I returned, someone had spit on my rear fender.
I took my car to one of these import car shows one time - never again. Two teenagers opened the doors and jumped in the car and started playing with the shifter and steering wheel - and I was right there! I couldn't take a swing at them because there were a hundred more young people just like them within 10 feet of my car. I asked them to get out, but they said they wanted their friend to take a picture of them first. After about 30 seconds they got out. I rolled up the windows, locked up the car, and have never been back to one of those shows since.

Yeah, thats crap! same thing happened to me at the show years back. It is amazing the respect level of people. They leaned up against the car almost dented and scratched it cause it was right next to the KUBE93 booth where the dumbass dj got the hooligans hyped up so they were jumping around and stuff.

This would send me over the top, not because of the damange, but because of the disrespect. I would post a sign with a nice award to anyone who turns the person in and then . . .

Anyway, somenone did that many many years go to my pristine Jag E-Type. I was so upset I wanted slash the guy's tires, if I only knew who it was. Ok, I was young and emotive back then.

I obsess about not even touching somebody else's car, even if it is a junker. Everybody's property deserves respect. I once parked my Hummer on the street and whilst I was away, some guy in a junked up Miata with a gray primered hood parked so close behind me, it took me 10 min to get out of the spot. I could not do it without bumping into him with my hummer and the spare tire made a minor dent on his primered old hood. One that could be fixed by the ding doctor for $100. So I left him a note on his windshield apologizng for the dent and gave him my contact info and told him I would pay for the damage. He sued me and my insurance company and got an entire brand new painted hood on his otherwise horrible condition Miata and HE was the one who parked so close to a Hummer as to make it impossible for me to back out. I complained to the insurance company for paying for it and they said they just processed his claim. Meanwhile I got an at fault accident on my record and an increased premium, for a freaking ding to a piece of crap car. Miata owners everwhere would have been ashamed of this guy. In retrospect, I should have just left, but that was someone else's car and I was doing the right thing.

Then you get guys like this who intentionally damage other people's cars and dissapear like cowards. They do eventually get their justice though. At least I like to think that.

I was sitting in the car at the nearby supermarket, and a lady pushed her empy shopping cart into the row of other carts, and completely missed. There was a slight hill, and so she shoved the cart right into a honda prelude. Dinging the side fender. She noticed, but quickly moved the other way. If I was closer, I would have gone off on her.

I am a treehugging hippy whose DD happens to be a Prius. I also own and drive an F430 and your post sounds like you share as simplistic a view of humanity as the person that spit in the F-Car...check your politics at the door.

Was standing outside of work one day this summer and a young girl walked by my BMW X5 M and just spit on it. I did not say anything and wondered why she might do such a thing.

I decided in the end that I am a very blessed person and am grateful to be able to have what I have. I do not know what inspires others to do what they do. But we each have our set of circumstances. She has hers and I have mine, so in a way I feel for those who have not learned to be inspired and seek to maximize their potential and in the end lead difficult lives that cause them to be jealous and resentful.

I understand your frustration, but never forget how good life can be for those that work for it and also have been placed in fortunate circumstances. Sorry to be preachy, but just putting life in perspective in that only so many people get to own a Ferrari and I expect to be one in the next year or two and I am one grateful guy……..Steve

I guess im in the minority here about taking action, but about a week ago I was backing out of a space in the fcar, had my daughter in the passenger seat. It was dark out, but the lot was lit well. I saw a car about 80 or so yards down the row so I backed out slowly, as I did the guy in his truck speeds up heading right at me. Hes going so fast that as he hit a swale in the lot his front tires actually came off the ground and he has to squeel to a stop about 15 feet past me to take the spot across the aisle from me.
I slammed on my brakes and then watched as he flips me off and goes in to the store (video game store)

The guy is about 30 or so, hoodie and a beater truck so I park the car, take off my watch and wallet and lock my daughter in the car.
I stood next to his truck and as he walks up I ask him "so what was your plan?" and he says "for what?" and I step very very close to his face and say in his ear "for a guy like me who doesnt drive away and waits out here to stomp the sh*t out of you?" he now realizes I was the guy in the ferrari and he grabs his cell phone and says "you better get out of here im calling the cops" So I tell him to go ahead and as he pulls his phone out, I grab it and throw in about 40 yards on top of the shopping center roof.
Now he starts sweating and realizes as im pointing at my daughter in the car that he could have injured her and me...
His attitude changed quickly as he began to realize Im about to really damage him, and starts to apologize.
I told him to walk away now and go get his phone, as he did I left. I managed to keep my voice low enough my daughter asked who my friend was..
I did feel much better after that, as sad as that seems. I get so tired of people like this who think they will NEVER get challenged or can get away scott free..
    NO MORE I SAY!

Cool story. I especially like the fact that you made him crap his pants given that he had flipped you off. How did he get his cell phone off the roof?

I dont know if he got his phone off the roof, but i made sure he saw me take a photo of his license plate before I left and said to him, I know where to find you....then i left.

It very much is, I really hoped that it wouldnt become physical with my kid around but I think sometimes there are learning moments, and letting someone get away with nearly injuring your family can have a message as well.

i have to say that is the stupidest childish story I have had read in a while. My friend to endanger your daughter only tells me you have a real ego issue . Maybe you dont watch the news or read anything besides car mags but there are many insane ****ers out there. And difference between you and them is they dont mind going to jail and have no family. So lets recap you watched too may Steven Segall movies when you were younger , and you really showed that clown how bad you are. You were lucky he was a ***** cause in LA and many other cities that little act get you killed. I have always asked myself why people who have a good life do such stupid things. while i dont know you I would bet you would have a hard time doing 5- 7 years.... Please think of your wife and child next time you feel insecure and need to prove something.. Glad it worked out so FAR!

Sometimes it can be necessary to stand up for what's right. Anyone can get killed crossing the street. Most of these characters are wimps underneath the tough exterior. He did the right thing.

I had a beat up van follow me home in a 308 I had. As I backed into my garage they parked sideways across my driveway. Two 30 something dirt bags got out and were trying to get into my garage. These guys were obviously not here for a 'social visit', and they were up to no good. I asked them to get back in their car three times. They kept coming. Fortunately I was armed. I drew on them and asked if there was going to be a problem. They retreated and I never saw them again. I was fully prepared to protect myself if necessary.

Sometimes, it is necessary to not sit back and be a victim.

In Singapore, I believe the punishment for spitting is $500 and caning for vandalism (spitting into other people's cars probably can be considered such). We may want to consider such revenue generators in these times of need to balance the budgets.
