What is the V max you have had out of your lambo?

Roy is right, and most of our phones even have apps that have GPS speed capabilities, so we don't need no stinkin speedos.

But I will challenge Joe's comment about fuelie Annies being fastest. The heavier Anniversaries had a different final drive ratio to make them accelerate as well as their predecessors (they got heavier, and that was the only way to compensate, as the engine and trans was the same). Therefore, I can't see any Anny having as good a top speed as the QV (fuelie or DD) before it, unless one unhooks the rev limiter and over revs it, which, I guess, isn't that hard to do. So, maybe it is possible, but not from the factory imo.

 

I've never seen any max speed stated by lambo. Where can I find this reference?

But, we are now being reminded that erroneous Lamborghini speedo pics dont mean jack.

 

Of course I'm basing this on gday's claim and just having fun with the owners of carb Annivesarios.

My Countach max was some 12 years ago. Was accurately measured but not by any speedometer nor any GPS. I'll let you guess by what instrument.

As far as my roadster, the max speeds I've acheived was measured by my own speedo and I assumed its accuracy was off by a bunch. But I always thought I'd gotten into the low 190's if the speedo showed 200.

I can also say EVEN the new cars..my 2007 Lp640, the G cars and even my current 2010 LP670-4SV..the speedo's are OFF..as well as the ODO itself..

My 2010 LP670 is consitently off by just a hair over 8%

What is really something to thinki about...at least for those of us who drive their cars and put miles on them.....

My 2010 LP 670 just crested 11,000 plus miles...

OR IS it really 10,120??

And my 2001 Diablo 6.0SE #19 with a tick under 44K miles..well truly closer to just under 40K miles, as it's ODO and Speedo are off by almost a full 10%

So how big was the fine?

 

Again I have no pictures but I have a couple of peices of paper that I've shown to a few close friends.

I don't know why this speed is problematic. My Yamaha R1 two up with the SO nearly does the same speed. 150 in the countach is a walk in the park. 170 and above takes a little time. The roadster is no problem to 170, again above that takes a little time and planning.

One story about speed in the roadster was from a few years ago. As me and the SO are heading towards 170, I realize that this is the first time I've seen such speeds with the roof on the engine cover. My thoughts start running through the owners manual trying to recall if there was some speed "limit" for the roof on the back. I start getting confused with murci roadster restrictions. About 10 seconds later I realize I'm going past a prison. I felt that both were omens. The next morning I found myself having coffee with Valentino and I asked him what he thought the max speed was for a D roadster with the roof on back - he said 140 should be no problem... Right - I'll remember that in the future.

Same thing with my car, speedo seems up to 10% off (you're going slower than the speedo shows). And when you see a sign saying "exit in 2 miles", the odo will read 2.5 miles or something when you get there. So, all the lambos probably have 5%-10% or more fewer miles than their odo reports.

According to my Passport 9500ci GPS $1.75 was achieved in my G and was still pulling hard.

 

In the LP640 I've done 340kph - or 211mph according to speedo.

However, the navi said the true speed was 326kph=202mph.

The car still had more in it, but was catching up to traffic.

Thought it was a known fact that the factory claims the speedos are off by 10% , good point on the odo though .

 

Had my Murci at 191 but that was according to the speedo so guessing just over 170 legit then

 

At least on the G the car knows how fast it is going the speedo just doesn't read right. On mine I can be going down the road at an indicated 77, which is really 70, reset the average speed function and it will show 70 as the average speed. So the mileage adds up correctly.

 

Have had my QV up to 295 kph (on the speedo) somewhere on the Autobahn.
With factory delta wing on car. That should translate to about 183 mph.
Wanted to see 300 kph but had to back off due to traffic...
But I felt there was more power available and speed was still climbing.

 

Perhaps you could specify, this is a fuel-injected car as I know it to be, is it not?
