    I would like to hear from all CS owners that have less than 6k miles and consider their CS a clean, no story, non modified car. How many of these cars actually still exist?

    In my quest for a CS over the past 3-4 months I have been amazed how many 10k mile cars are out there that show a lot of wear and tear. I am also surprised to see cars that are priced out of the market. What I haven't seen is many well preserved cars that are at market rate. I now they are out there but I have only run across a couple. What I am finding is there are four groups of cars in the market. 1) $125k-130k - cars that have high mileage and show signs of wear inside and out. 2) $130k-$140k - cars that have high miles (10k+) but are well preserved or cars that have lower miles and show some wear and tear. 3) $140k-$145k - This is the current sweet spot for a low mileage and clean/no story car. The premium CS. 4) $145k + cars that are priced higher than market with owners believing their cars are worth more than the market will bear. They end up sitting at this price until they get tired and finally move down to group 3 if they really want to sell.

    I am looking to hear from owners of CS's that fit in group 3 and/or 4. Whether your car is for sell or not at this particular time, I thought it would be interesting to see how many cars still exist that are low mileage and clean? Is this becoming the minority in the CS world? As fewer and fewer of these cars exist, will it have market impact on those few that fit in this group?

    Maybe you should relate this to simple economic theory of supply and demand, Everyone wants a low mile no story CS, but fewer and fewer exist. Maybe you need to change your expectation of what a clean CS is worth. It could be worth more $$$$$

    I agree they could be worth more money but I don't see the buyers in this market willing to spend the money. What I am trying to get a gauge on is how many of these low mile/clean CS's actually even still exist? This will help determine if economic theory is real or not?

    sorry my CS has 35,000 milles on it. It is ashame I actually drive it. Buy a CS, drive it ,enjoy it and stop looking for perfection it is cutting into your driving time.

    if I could have drove out of the dealership with it instead of my 360, I would have been much happier (but probably in jail right now)

    looked clean, but didn't have much time to get a real close look at it, I was too focused on the car I was driving home.

    It's great that you guys are driving your CS's and getting enjoyment out of it. That is not what this tread is about. I am trying to determine how many low mile, super clean CS's are actually still out there and trying to gauge what the premium is that folks are willing to pay? Today I went and saw one that I know is as clean as they get. Simply perfection. I put an offer on the car. I am waiting to hear back with fingers crossed. I would be paying a premium for this low miles/clean car. So back to my question. How many of these cars are still out there and what is the real market rate for these cars?

    Rick mines got 10500 miles on it and is as clean as they get. Im sure some of the guys on this site will vouch for that.

    I purchased a 2000km super clean CS last year, my search was very similar, it was very hard to find a CS without a story, paint work, no records, CEL, wrong color, no stripe etc, etc, etc, when I found the car I wanted I pulled the trigger. I don't worry about the money too much. The sound of the exhaust is a good way to help you forget. Buy the finest example that you can afford because once you own one of these cars, you'll never want to sell it.

    I believe Hawkeye, an Fchatter recently purchased a super clean CS, I am guessing but I think it was posted in ferrariads for $165,000USD.

    Can I ask why you are looking for a car with less than 6000 miles on it. Is a car with 10000 miles any different? Investment grade or driving?

    Unfortunately every CS that I have looked at over 10k has shown signs of physical wear. I'm trying to figure out if this is more the rule or the expection. I realize my sampling of cars is limited compared to what is out there. This is part of the motivation for this thread.

    Chas, from what I can tell, I think your car is an exeption. Unfortunately, it does appear that at 10k something does happen to the market value regardless how clean it is. This is more of a Ferrari thing. The Porsche world I come from the car is just broken in at 10K. Frankly, I'm surprised yours is not selling at $140k. My guess it will sell between $135K and $140k. You fall into my option 2 above. Your car has been on my radar. If things do not work out with my 3500 mile car, I might be knocking on your door. :)

    rzundel....If you are seeing a big price difference between cars with less than 10k and more than 10k why don't you just buy the car that is in great shape with with 10k and up and save the money? Otherwise you will take the depreciation when your car hits 10k. I have a hard time believing that all these cars out there have been beat to crap and have only 10k miles on them.

    On a side note I would look for a car that has more miles, around 15k to 20k. I would find a car that was not beat on but driven and taken care of. This way the car has enough miles on it that whatever was going to fail prematurely already has, and the car has been driven keeping everything moving and not drying out like you hear. With a 6 year old car this is only 2.5k to 3.5k miles a year rougly. That is only about 250 miles a month. That is like driving the car once a week. All these people want cars with low low miles on them. To me that is a car that has sat around with old gas in it, things are drying up, and problems have never been materialized.

    Just my opinion, but I am completely new to Ferrari's and still trying to learn. If I am way off base here someone please correct me.

    I bought a perfect example last year with just under 7,000 miles. Now it has over 11,000 miles and is still perfect. If I would have waited until this year to buy it I would have saved some money but every mile is worth the enjoyment. Find your perfect car, buy it and drive it, then drive it some more, then more and more...... THe longer you wait to purchase one the fewer miles you can put on it.

    if your gonna be in north Orange County anytime soon, would love you to come look at my Yellow CS with 10900 miles on it...

    would be interested to know how it stacks up to what you have seen from your perspective, as too what you have seen...

    and yes we can go for a quick spin!!

    I'm not debating that you can pick up a nice CS with 10K+ miles and save money. That is not what I am asking. I am trying to figure out how many prestine low mile (Sub 6000) CS cars still even exist out of the 300 or so that were brought into the U.S.? For those that do exist, what is the realistic premium that one can expect to pay? I shared my analysis of the market and broke it down into 4 groups. (see beginning of thread) I am looking for a group 3 car. I actually am negotiating a group 4 car and bringing it back to a group 3. For me, I am willing to pay a premium of about $15k for a low mile car. That is just me. I fully realize that there are premium cars with greater than 10k miles. I'm trying to figure out if this is more the exception than the rule?

    I understand what you are trying to do. Are you looking to actually drive the car or is it going to be a garage queen or something to add to a collection (aka not driven)? My point was if you are actually going to drive it and enjoy it (vs enjoying it as a stationanry piece of art if you will) why not find a car that has group 2 miles but is in group 3/4 shape that has already taken this deprciation value that you claim?
