    Schumacher reprimanded for impeding

Michael Schumacher has been given a reprimand for having impeded Rubens Barrichello during qualifying for the Korean Grand Prix.
Schumacher impeded Barrichello during Turns 10 and 14 of the second qualifying segment and both drivers were summoned by the stewards after the session.
Barrichello had been critical of Schumacher, saying he was sad about the situation.
"He just came to apologise in a way that the team didn't tell him [I was there], but I was on a fast lap and you know you have mirrors and you have everything and you cannot count on everything from the team," he told the BBC.
"I am a little bit sad about the situation because it is only luck that I passed on to Q3 because he really slowed me down."
The Mercedes driver escaped a penalty, however, but was given a reprimand.
"The stewards note that irrespective of the team's opinion that car 9 [Barrichello] was not on a 'fast lap', it is ultimately the drivers responsibility to be conscious of closing cars via the use of mirrors and blue flags/lights," said the stewards in a statement.
Team-mate Nico Rosberg also escaped a penalty, having been under investigation for having impeded Fernando Alonso during final practice.
No action was taken on Robert Kubica either, the pole investigated for having slowed down Adrian Sutil.

The FIA should've been more forthright earlier in Michael's (and Ayrton's) career.

We are seeing the results of their continued wimpyness.

That was then, this is now, I do get your point though.

The less the FIA interferes the better IMO.
I do think Todt is trying to adopt this way of thinking though.

Too true. Personally I think it was because they wanted to create/foster Superstars for marketing reasons.

+1, especially if he can involve Schumacher as much as he can. ''you almost killed me!'' at hungary. You could have parked a f'in elephant in that gap.

Barrichello needs to grow some balls...he always complains :/

Yea. He's bitter about his Ferrari times, yet he keeps mentioning that he was happy when he was at Ferrari. I don't see that's the case. Then, whenever any incidents that involve MS, he's always complaining.

Strange that the stewards didn't think so and that Schu went on to apologise, no?

You are on your own on that one, fellow ...

Schu apologized because he was pressured too. If he knew it was a genuine mistake, he would have apologized immediately like how he so called held up Barri on a fast lap. Schu only apologized that Hungary incident 1 week later.

But it didn't take long for the stewards, the onlookers and about everybody BUT YOU, to condemn the move as dangerous, agressive and unnecessary.

Most of the people who watched it held their breath in disbelief and hoped they weren't going to witness another fatality in GP.

But for YOU, it's OK,' it's clever, etc... It's exactly the blood sport you enjoy...

It looks like you have a big, big problem with anyone judging Schumacher!!

At the end of the day, i was merely pointing out that Rubens made a huge fuss over that impeding incident. Not sure what your referring too.

Wow bud...let the Hungary thing die already. Even the biggest baby in F1 (Rubens) doesn't bring it up anymore, he just finds new things to whine about.

Even before Barichello realised what was happening, millions of spectators couldn't believe their eyes as they watched Schumacher's move.

Several TV commentators condemned it immediately, and many added their disapproval after witnessing one of the worst case of blocking ever seen: driving deliberately towards the wall to squeeze an opponent, potentialy causing a serious accident.

Obviously the stewards saw it too, and penalised Schumacher for it.

So, please, it was a bit more than 'cry-baby' Rubens whining.

It was a typical case of aggression, unworthy of a former world champion.

Without getting into personalities it was a dangerous and pointless move. Obvious to anyone without an axe to grind.

Schumacher went too far in Hungary. The penalty was justified. It is also true that Rubens acts like a child every time Schumacher is involved. This scene being the most recent in a number of examples. It is getting annoying to say the least.

Yes, those of us in our arm chairs realized what was happening faster than the actual driver in the F1 car. Brilliant thinking, william.

You've obviously a Schumacher hater, but the Hungary thing is dead and buried. Who said I disagreed that it was overly aggressive? My point obviously went over your head which is that Rubens is the biggest whiner on the grid and needs to shut up and drive. I know it busts his balls that Schumacher is 7x the driver he will ever be but he needs to get over it.
