I thought this was the most appropriate thread to post this:
While searching for info on the old Casale Monferato circuit, now abandoned, in Italy I came across this great site:

    http://www.gdecarli.it/

It includes information on thousands of circuits/tracks around the world, many now abandoned and hidden by vegetation, with their location coordinates. What a great way to be able to locate them and see them through GoogleEarth or even visit them while on travel nearby.
Many of the pictures posted here are taken in such locations.

    35529 in its ugliest form!

What rims are these - just for rolling the car?

They are Boxer spare wheels used to transport the car. They provide more ground clearance and a good place to tie the car down during transport.

The pictures are not to new, 25 years old or older is considered historic.

Interesting photo with the Ballancauto Boxer and the transporter. Here's another one that I took in Le Mans 1981.

    Sorry Sire

Car #41 is not 0509 but Michel Ringoir's 0707 and as far as I know, neither J. Blaton nor Dernier had anything to do with it.

    OK with the other 2.

    Hi "Tom Roland",
yep, you are right - and it was the GT-race prior to the German GP for the F1 in 1957.
    My mistake...

Here is another photo of #0707 (no.41) in that race and the TDF of Seidel (no.36).

    Both photos are strictly copyrighted!

    Ciao!
