We have all owned one at one time or another. A real ugly piece of CR@P that you just drive and drive and just wont die. For me in 1994 I bought a Daihatsu Mira, you know the little 3 cylinder 660cc van. Well it has now clicked over 340,000k's and in all that time other than tyres, brake pads and oil it has had nothing done to it. I tell a lie, we drove from Perth to Woomera in South Australia with the throttle nailed to fire wall and it popped a rear seal but that is it. Starts every time and just wont die...... Take it to shopping centres and park anywhere if someone backs into it...... so what. Having said that it will now probaly be a smouldering heap on the edge of the road on the way home tonight. Any others?
3 cylinder 1L Daihatsu Charade was a great little car, completely indestructible, and cost me nothing to own or run. in the 5 years i had it all i did was some CV Joints, and a Dizzy( and of course tyres and brake pads). i actually regret selling it. for the $600 i got for it, i wish i'd kept it for sentimental reasons. in fact i owned that car longer than any other ive ever owned.
Yep same type of thing with 4 doors,as one of my rentas. I bought it with about 185klm for $3K,paid for itself about 5 times, kept it till it had done 230klm,sold it for $1500 and had to put in 2 front suspension components. It,s still driving around town.
Was this car until I rolled it. Besides tyres and an oil change or two, it didnt cost much to run. Go ANYWHERE...........and I mean anywhere. Mitsubishi Sigma, Astron 2.6L 4 cyl auto. *Drove it home like that after I rolled it. * Image Unavailable, Please Login
1984 MG Montego Turbo. In its day the fastest 2 litre production car around. Floor it in 2nd or 3rd and leave the road. Drove it into the ground which took a shorter period than I would have liked.
That's disgraceful Pap. I'm going to report you to the RSPCA (Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Astrons)
Lol, true eh. Was a good first car, never gave us trouble. If I didnt roll, would probably still be driving it today.
An old Toy of mine , 2.0 Astron Turbo. 1 of 200 made. My youngest is preparing its return to club rally.
you're having trouble reading again....thread doesn't say 'biggest piece of crap' was that repoed too??
Nice zip ties holding the plate up. Are ALL your cars held together by band-aids. Was just thinking the same thing Plessy! Cheers mate. Im glad his Boxer was repoed. It lived to drive another day.
