After barely escaping with a split with Kampmann? And the 3 Yahoo MMA beat writers had it unam for Kampmann. I don't see him get any UFC belt if Saturday was indication. Not even deserving a shot at GSP quite yet IMHO. Whatcha got in that Shields flavored Kool-aid you're drinking? :)

I'm also reading that Lesnar/Mir III is in the works.
    I'd rather see Lesnar/Carwin II.

Lesnar Mir III???? For real? Is that a joke? Does anyone care about that rematch? Mir is another one who needs to fade away...

    Upcoming---

    Lesnar/Mir 3
    Carwin/Nelson
    Shields/GSP or Kos
    Cain/Junior

Brendan Schaub has asked to fight Mir..... I would rather see that then Mir/Lesnar again

I do. I would love to see a rubber match between these two. Who else would Brock face right now?

That's just it.....I am most definitely not basing my opinion off of this last fight against Kampmann, where he had to shed 20 lbs in a day to make weight. I am basing it over the last 5 or 6 years I have been watching his fights in other organizations. Is a fighter only as good as his last fight in your eyes? Shields won the fight over Kampmann - I don't care what the Yahoo writers wrote - I've watched the fight twice, and there's no doubt Shields won it. It was a difficult win because of the brutal weight cut, but a win nonetheless. I can only imagine what it would have been like if he was at a comfortable 170lbs........he would have submitted Kampmann in the 2nd, easily.

Shields has wins over Dan Henderson, Yushin Okami, Carlos Condit, Mike Pyle, Jason Miller, Paul Daley, Robbie Lawler----Those are some big name guys....And he trains with the Diaz brothers who are both on an MMA tear....

It will be interesting to see if he stays at 170 or moves back up to 185...

I don't doubt it was the massive weight cut that hurt him, but as a pro, shouldn't he have cut more in advance so he was in good shape and comfortable at that weight??

Also, I would like to see Roy fight Brock. That would be a fun fight to watch.

Was just announced Carwin pulled out of his fight against Roy due to injury. Maybe they'll put Roy up against Brock now.

No, Your right, But I just don't like any of the Stockton boys! Do you really think he could beat Nate? Sonnen? ANDERSON (NO WAY), Maia?, There punches are too heavy and Maia's ground game is just as good if not better. That's just my opinion. Lawler is just one dimentional. Henderson, He did beat him pretty good, but he got ROCKED a few times.

That fight did NOTHING for me. AND... I'm afraid of a Carwin/Lesner II. Carwin will DESTROY brock if they fight again.

Yes, I think he can beat any of those guys you mentioned, including Silva. Shields beat Vinny "Pezao" Magalhaes in a grappling match, and has also has beaten Fitch in a grappling match. He is the absolute top of the food chain in regards to grappling skills. If you are going to be a 1-dimensional fighter, you'd better be the very best there is. I think Shields is as close as you can get to being just that in his weight classes.

Can you imagine the day if Big Country should ever become the UFC HW Champ???

I agree - his skills are almost legendary at this point. Just disappointing that he gassed, but consider that Kampmann is no joke either. I fully expect he'll come back stronger.

That's really too bad. I think he's got 1 more fight at FW in the WEC then he'll be in the UFC. I just can't see what there is left in the WEC for him. Not to mention the money has got to be better in the UFC. I'm a Florian fan but I think Aldo would have little problem with Kenflo even if he took him on while still at 145. Aldo is that good IMHO.

Also read today that Carwin will have surgery next week so he's out for quite awhile. Let's hope he comes back. Agree with Armen that if there is a Lesnar/Carwin II, Carwin won't make the same mistake twice.

I don't think so but UFC 300 will come quickly! Also, BELLETOR is on right now.

With this merger, I can't wait to see the LW belt unification fight. It will be the winner of Edgar/Maynard vs the winner of Henderson/Pettis.

Also, since Edgar walks around basically at his fighting weight, I wonder if he might drop down a class to go for another belt.

It was announced that the UFC has cut Gonzaga and Cote. I am disappointed, as I do like both fighters.
