sorry ment 2mms,they will be a lot better if buffed ,but WTF would i know as I only held the SC lap record at Mallala at about 1.20. That track will not suit a 308,to hard on brakes.
for me in the Porker,it was good for a second at Sandown and similar at the island. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thats what Phil said as well. I didn't say you didn't know anything, I said I wasn't bothered about it (buffing tyres). I'm driving a road car not a race car. I'll get more than enough performance from a new set of R tyres.
He never said that...not since the 80s...and not to you. he told me he'd cross the street if he spotted you coming the other way.
thats funny,I've just ordered my Avons of him, minilites and XWX's for the Cat. One of the few people they will allow to put his own wheels back on his own car in the shop. Never heard of you,but know of your fathers cheques to buy your tyres.
Brett doesn't use the brakes...they only slow him down. I heard that car was 2.5 seconds faster when someone else drove it.
yep...just ignore him...everyone else does. btw...i was a passenger in an M5 for about 15 laps....if that didn't get brake fade, then your car won't either, assuming it's got good pads and fluid.
not true ,my mate whom also drove it was the same, but harder on the gearbox,in the mustang he was quicker, only because he was stronger in the arms then I. At Sandown we both did 1.25s on R series and at the island 1.54s on R series.
was it on R series tyres? what times or was the driver just cruising, his car will have trouble doing 5 laps, you forget it runs similar brakes to the early Porkers main issue is heat pulsating through the pedal.
must have been ok,as the island one was = to what Pye did for a lap record and sandown time was class lap record. Lets see what times your 308 does, mallala i recon 1.25s Sandown 1.30s and the island 1.59
the less you say, the less silly you look. sorry...not look...sound. doesn't matter what you say you alwasys LOOK silly.
Yes, I know the 308 is slow so will be packing my lunch AND afternoon tea. I don't believe a standard 308 will get under 2 mins at the island and low 1.30's is all they can do at Sandown.
I reckon it would, not that i would want to drive one around there. You can't beat a Porker for fun on a race track. let me know when you start running,i might bring out my porker and have a run. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I will be doing all the HSV track days next year RB so I'll give you the dates. We do Sandown, Phillip Island and Winton and it's $180 for the day. Format is normally Pratice, 3 timed sessions of 4 laps each and then at the end of the day they have up to three 6 laps sprints.
cool. Let me know how the plastic coating stands up to the R series tyres,as that has been the problem on the jag, they destroy the paint on the sills.
