its SPRING!!!!!!!! well not quite...wonder whos gonna spot what today...bound to see some cars out and about...the weather is RIDICULOUS!!!

 

Indeedly!!! Been driving the red car to work this week.

 

Indeed! I for one would have DEFINITELY taken the car out today. Heck it was so nice I HAD to go for a drive and went up north to my usual hunting grounds in the DD (M3). Not only was it fabulous, but I've never had so little traffic hindering me (virtually none and always in the rare easy to overtake spots)! I have to say the DD,s capabilities are definitely more limited than the Gallardo but I had probably just as much fun with the tail coming out on several occassions. Very challenging drive with damp spots all over.

 

And leaves. Quite slippery in the corners this morning.

 

ugggg possibly the LAST nice day till REAL spring and i spotted zilch...dissapointing to say the least...oh i saw a Pontiac G8...lol

I guess not everyone else in MTL shared your guys enthusiasm with the weather we were given...

GVAN what is the specs on your M3??? E90?

Yes, it's an E90. Put some stiffer springs (minimal lowering) to deal with the roll a bit but otherwise stock.

What, you guys only take the cars out in the summer? Shame! I've got winter tires for the Gallardo

Cops tend to pull you over more because they think you're insane than the winter tire thing.

You know it's funny because I consider myself a "driver" and the M3 is definitely (by far?) the better "driver's" car. Rear drive, super communicative steering, insane throttle response. Control the oversteer, smooth transition into and out of the slide, etc. And yet I go for the Gallardo every time I fancy a drive, even when no one's going to see me.

There's just something about it, has a certain character. At the end of the day it doesn't feel as sharp because it just handles everything so easily.

Ive seen one time a gallardo out in the winter it was an Orange car with Decals on it...that was two winters ago i belive in the old port...respect to him as well...

I know i would 100% drive mine in the winter!!! Perelli mud and snow tires ftw...

Yup, I know Roy. He has a story of crossing the doner pass during a blizzard. He was stopped by troopers telling him he couldn't go because the road was closed to all except those with AWD or snow tires and he didn't have either. He points to the tires and manual prooving them wrong on both counts. They say they'll come get him if he's not on the other side in 45 minutes. After 20 minutes of weaving through spun out and ditched trucks and SUVs he makes it to the other side where he's pulled over again. Trooper tells him they all had a pool going against him.

 

That's legendary!!!

Does it belong to him or did his record company rent them for a day to make him look more "gangsta" so that wannabe "gangstas" in rusted tinted 93 civics with mismatched alloys buy his records?

 

i dont know the specifics...but i have spotted it there at Monster Gym a dozen times since June. And a few times across the street at Towne Hall...Aparently hes HUGE in Mexico so i could see that where he gets his funds to a certain extent

 

Those for sure aren't any of his exotics. I did a photo shoot with the real owner and his collection, they must have been used for a promo shoot.

 

Only said the R8 was his

 

BTW my car is now with Audi Prestige and I just have to commend them on the service I've been getting from them. It has been truly beyond anything I could have imagined as possible.

Good news is that the car is one tough old bird. Short of most of the brakes and 2 spindles pretty much every unsprung part of the car will be replaced along with the obvious body and some other damage repaired but she will be back on the road.

 

Success...so glad to hear...woulda been a damn shame to lose that car...she is a looker indeed!
