brett, you can have them dropped off at my place....we are smack bang in the middle of city side industrial.....ask PP
The treadwear rating on the XWXs on PP's GT4 was 120 (IIRC). The Advans on my Elise are 180. R-spec tyres are usuallly around 60 (IIRC). Treadwear rating of normal road tyres is usually 300.
I don't believe they have been put on yet. There is also the temperature label you gave me as well. That is being done. The car when required has been transported in Phils enclosed truck.
(RWD) Skyline came with Kuhmo ECSTA had 320 rating but I was getting wheelspin at up to 140 km/h in them at EC though! I've since dropped to 180 with Kumho KU36 for front and just snapped up last 2 in the country to put on the rears on Monday.. I'm looking forward to seeing how much time will drop with them.. I'm guessing there's at least 5+ sec in it given the probs I had with the originals!
Big chance it won't have a stone chip then When are you actually going to drive this garage queen????????????
If Brettski can happily drive it in all conditions after the resto, he is better than me! It's been pissing down here all weekend. No way I could drive my 308 in it.
Soon brother, soon. I must say I wouldn't be too keen to drive it in these conditions, not fun IMO. Lacks all the mod cons as well. I have to see how hard it is to keep spotless before venturing out in the rain. I put a bucket out the back yeasterday morning, measured it this morning, 90mm. I think the drought is broken.
I heard 130mm on the radio this morning, most rain since October 1975! Remember the rust repairs Brett, that should tell you when not to drive the car.
ok, seeing as how the FNR is not far away thought it might be good to post some times from the last rally : FTD for standard cars 1:22.38 Andrew Gordon 355F1 FTD overall 1:21.29 Warren Weldon 355 fastest 308 Charlie 1:23.70 (slightly modified ) Graeme 308GTB 1:26.34 Giovanni 308GTB 1:27.5 Simon Hackett 308GTS 1:30.4 Jack Klaver 308GT4 1:30.9 Moretti 308GT4 1:31.4 Phil Moore 365GT 2+2 1:32.5 Ian G 365GTB/4 1:32.77 WRXmike 308GTB 1:33.2 Ray Gulson 512BB 1:34.53 Now I don't know what is going on but BAturbo posted that his times were WAY better than any of those and Goober just called to say he did a 1:18.2 at today's SCCofSA motorsport meet on tarmac tyres in his 360CH while on the way to winning on his FIRST day out racing He was only up against GT3s on slicks and assorted other hotrods so it doesn't count I hear he was carrying 100kg of additional weight as well so I think the hotshoes in the club with the 430 scuds had better have their racing shoes on, he's sounding QUICK !!! I'm getting in early and saying right off, the QV is sounding off with some sort of exhaust leak (that comes out of page #2 in the driver's excuse for losing book !!), plus is having some overheating problem and the driver hasn't touched the car for 4 weeks ........ now that all the excuses are out of the way I still expect to flog Brettski and GC (sooner or later I'll get him ) The times look very slow from the last rally so what has changed in the last 7 years ?? Why is it so much faster now ? You SA guys aren't quick so there must be a faulty timer .... has the Winton timer turned up or something ???? My poor GT4 was clapped out but I still ended up in the top half of the sheet (and then she broke down at Wagga WAgga on the return trip ) I can't get my quick tyres down there so I'm looking to be the last of the late brakers
just realised what an accomplishment this was for a first outing of actual racing !!! Did you get the call to replace FM in the #2 car ?
