Wow what a great drive yesterday afternoon. Ended up breaking free around one and head out. I decided to drive to St. Helens. Was much farther than I remember. 360 miles door to door but well worth it. Very little traffic and a perfect day. Once I got in 12 it was fast running and
light traffic. Once I headed into the park there was nobody. One pick up let me by and one Harley that could not hang on the twisties. Went all the way to Windy Ridge. Late afternoon light looked amazing on the fall colors. I ran into snow on the shaded north side. Was about 6" deep at one point but there was one lane track through it. I tried her out on a snowy area and all I can say is I needed "Roys" snow tires. Point slightly down hill on 2 inches of hard icy she would go nowhere. Could not over come the resistance of the snow on the front wheels with the avaialbale traction. I knew summer tires would be bad but they are useless. I almost got stuck going down hill. If I opened the door and used my leg I could move the car forward but not on its own. I am glad I didn't try it on a level section. Didn't need much force to move the car but the tires didn't have enough grip and these are cut pretty deep.

The road is a little rough in sections and I was glad I have only 18" wheels on a few pot holes and road breaks. Less rubber and I would have been needing a rim. Last run of the year most likely and it was off the hook. I will post some pic when I figure out the new Droid they just gave me. Car was mess afterwards as there was lots of water and pine needles down in the shady areas. Exhaust sounded excellent with the windows down blasting through the tree less canyons. I am sure you could hear her a long way off. At Windy Ridge a coupe said they could hear me coming off and on for over 15 minutes. They were not sure what the hell was coming up the canyon. They finally could see me the last 5 minutes working my way around the last canyon. They then could see the Harley Sporty trying to follow. They said they never heard the bike at all. They said watching and hearing car work the canyon in the setting sun light the final 5 minutes made their day. I know it made mine.

Have a good trip Roy. I was up there last week Mike but it was rainy and we had the Mini.
Have car fever again so out looking around. I do like the yellow Caymen but they want to much and it is a 2006. I think I would rather have a 2008 or newer. Maybe a Mini JWC or
I am just going to mod the one I have. Programer, Exhaust and CAI for just over 2k gets you an easy 40HP.

Almost got stuck there. Once the front wheels hit the snow she would not move ieven with some good wheel spin. I open the door and my foot was on the pavement and i got her moving like a scooter. Maybe a100lbs of force but the tires could not get that much bite.
You can see the groves the tires put in the snow you woudl think they woudl have some bite. Zero. Great drive to end the season and without pictures it didn't happen.
