Ah thanks. The 313 th Miura built, originally "Rosso Corsa" paint with "Skay nero/beige" (black vinyl with beige inserts), engine number 2748, delivered January the 21st 1969 to Autoelite (Italy)'s customer "Cattodori".
Pretty impressive you must be stoked, dont forget though that the Countach thread would probably be around the same had it not been split into two (the original being the Concorso 07 countach thread)
Oh no I was thinking about Lamborghini cars! If girls are the topic, then the Pretty Girls with Ferraris tops at 3.4 million. Not that any of this is particularly meaningful.
I've seen this Miura in 2006 when she joined 'Rallye de Paris' event. The owner told me his car was coming form a dutch car collection being sold. I took some pictures, and there was a german speaking id plate (meaning she lived for time in Germany/Switzerland/Austria ?). I gave a small visit this afternoon to The Miura P400 S that will be on sale tomorrow, sunday 7th in Paris ( http://www.artcurial.com/fr/asp/fullCatalogue.asp?salelot=1931+++++141+&refno=10321089 ) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was pointing out how I managed to paint the top of the air boxes the wrong colour and fitted Jalpa thumb screws instead of the originals that were not available when I owned the car in the 80s Stephen Keen
If you owned the beautiful blue SV in the 80s, then it was presumably after (or maybe before) it belonged to Tony the guitarist. I believe he owned other Lamborghinis as well, possibly an Espada. Saw the car at Gaydon about a year ago, and for me it was the best car there. Had trouble dragging myself away from it!
Both Lambos sold at ARTCURIAL auction this sunday evening in Paris : Miura P400S #4755 : 379.558 Espada SII #8392 : 29.485 (Prices are all taxes included)
According to an interview he did, Tony Iommi bought the car almost new and also owned a Ferrari Daytona at the same time. No mention of any other type of Lamborghini owned..
Thanks, I can't remember seeing that interview, do you know where it was from? I used to collect all interviews by the band back in the 70s, 80s and 90s but, from memory, can only ever recall small references to Lamborghinis owned by Tony. Maybe Iommi bought it from the potato farmer then, who I believe bought it from new!
I reckon you have that back-to-front. EVO did a little research and suggested that Iommi in fact ordered the car new, and that the next owner was the Scottish farmer. http://www.evo-me.com/carreviews/cargrouptests/706/evolution_of_the_supercar.html "In fact this SV was originally owned by Tony Iommi, bassist in Black Sabbath. Mr Iommi ordered chassis number 4814 in 1971 in the most desirable spec available, with air conditioning and a split sump. Since then its belonged to, amongst others, a Scottish potato farmer"
Ah, yes, I have that magazine in a box somewhere with hundreds of others. I remember the terrible error calling Iommi the bassist, they shouldn't have got that wrong.
most of them were viewed by me ... But seriously ... if there were a Miura country , you would the ambassador ! Congrats and thanks for sharing your knowledge
