I think im the youngest ferrari lover in Hawaii. the first one I ever drove was a 1979 ferrari 308. I work for a guy that is always looking for great deals on ferrari's and other exotic cars and vintage motorcycles. before I met him I knew nothing of Ferrari's except the one on ferris beuller was sick. I remeber when i met him i was Bragging about how fast my super rare Mercededs C36 AMG was. and he looks at me and smiles after listening to me rant for 2 days, and said, "do you wanna race for pinks against my car?" I said "maybe, maybe what kinda car do you have?" he smirked and very quietly said " a Marranello 550" I was like " what is that? that sounds Italian! in which case i decline!" i went home that night and google it and poof. my love for Ferrari's was born. now i know many of Hawaii's Ferrari owners, and my goal is to one day be the " go to guy" for finding, buying and selling ferrari's. I also deal with many other types of purchases. if anyone is looking to find a ferrari or sell a Ferrari. I feel I can help. I basically want to submerge my self in everything Ferrari. if you feel like you have some ideas on stuff you want to invest in, I am your guy. I can do the research, initial test drives, and offer for anything looking for. currently I am looking to find a great deal on a 308,328,360,360 stradale,f430,or testarossa.

Hey maybe I can use your services. I'm looking for a nice 250GTE in the Kona area. See what you can come up with.
Seriously, I don't know how old you are, but you might think about saving up some money, and heading to Monterey in August. It might be an eye opener for you, and a hell of a lot of fun. I'd plan on maybe 3k, and you should be ok for the week.

at that time, I will have made 21. I was serious when i said the youngest. I dont know anyone around here my age that even cares about Ferrari's. but then again Ferrari owners are NOT just like everyone else. I simply never take my opportunities for granted and its taken me pretty far at a young age. I do not know of a 250gte, However, I was recently contacted by a guy who has a very special 1963 250 GT Lusso Speciale here on Oahu I believe. asking price........drumroll. $525,000 but I did some research and I cant find ANY that look as cool as this one. here are some pics. also I would be interested in any information ANYONE would like to give me about Ferrari's. or if i can help in anyway or get invovled...i'd love to. you can leave it on here or email me directly at [email protected]

Wow! That Lusso is a blast from the past. I am jumping to the conclusion that it is the 330 LMB re-creation that was in Hawaii for many years. It belonged to a friend and customer here on Oahu until he sold it to a new owner on the Big Island. I understand that the new owner put it into a garage and it never saw the light of day for years. The Big Island owner passed away and another friend here on Oahu stopped by the shop and asked about the car's value. There were two other lesser value collector cars involved too. I think one was a Lotus Elan. If I remember correctly, regular Lussos were going for about $125K at the time. The person inquiring about the car said it was rough, paint oxidized, Borranis rusty, leather cracked, etc, etc. I really liked the car and I felt it was worth more than a standard Lusso. I heard others say that it was altered and worth less than a standard Lusso.

A few weeks later, this person came by and said that he offered the family $12K because the car was in such bad shape. I almost collapsed!! I told him that he had better do something quickly or the family is going to write him off as a scammer.

In the meantime, the word had got out that the car was available and the mainland brokers were burning up the phone lines trying to get a line on the car. Another friend, here on Oahu, stopped by and said that he had been offered the car for $90K, but wasn't interested. I searched all the seat cushions for change, looked around for anything to sell, wondered how to go about robbing a bank. I would have loved to have that car. The next thing that I heard was that another Big Island collector had purchased the car and sold it very quickly to another person that I know here on Oahu. That person shipped the car to the mainland and brought it to the Monterey gathering in its rough and highly "patina" condition. I understand that it was well received. I did not know about the acquisition until after the fact, but the new owner stopped by and was wondering if he had done the right thing by buying the car. I said that it was the absolutely right thing to do and may end being the best investment that he ever made. I saw that it was for sale at Fantasy Junction some time ago. At one point, I had heard that the car had not sold again. At this point, I do not know if the the Hawaii person still owns it. For the years that it was here, the story was that it was a Tom Meade car. The local owner did some research and even went to Italy to visit the person that had the modifications done. I forget the name of the carrozzeria, but it was not Tom Meade.

It is a standard Lusso with the body modifications. I wonder if it is the pictures or my monitor, but it seems to be much more orange than I remember.

When I first saw the pictures, I thought that it had been re-done, but one can see chips and corrosion around the grille and it seems like the headlight covers are ill-fitting at the bottoms. The owner told me that he just did some mechanical work, replaced the exhaust system and tires and just cleaned and buffed everything else. He said that he enjoyed using the car as is and had no desire to restore it. The OP states that it has been with the current owner since 2005, so It is still with the person that bought it out of the Big Island. I do not know who worked on the car. I do remember him saying that the shop was in the San Francisco area. It does look good!

The brick wall is surely Fantasy Junction. It says fantasy junction.com at the bottom of the photos.

I just noticed that. I guess I need my glasses changed. But I'd know that brick wall anytime. I've had some nice days at Fantacy Junction. I still remember when the shop was in Berkeley on Dwight Way I believe.

yeah i think it may have been at fantasy at one point. but I know it has done a bunch of jumping around. I do know that it will end up there again if it doesnt sell. I was told that he will sell it for 525k firm to the private sector. and fantasy will put it up for 589k or so. so if anyone is interested, its kinda the only chance.

If that red 250 lusso is still for sale at fantasy for 525k it's well under what the 10 or 15 other Lusso's are asking. Most close to 600k asking.

So if I was interested in this car,(vintage is my favorite) what would your role be in the transaction? Do you arrange the PPI and inspect the car for me? How much do you get paid and do I pay you or does the seller? Will shipping to the Big Island be thrown in ????

I would set you up with the owner and he would pay me a small comission.im not doing it so much for the money. but the opportunity to learn more and meet new people. I dont ask of anything from you unless you had something to offer like any knowledge i can gain about the cars I love or just some time to have a conversation. I think the shipping to the big island can be arranged.
    thanks, Josh

I normally would charge a finders fee. but in this case im just excited about the car it self

as far as the shipping and pre purchase inspection. id have to get back to you on that. I have to talk with the owner

    there are these also

    these too

Isn't it odd, if not complete BS, that you are posting photos of cars taken in Emeryville, CA, and you say they are in Hawaii...?

Even worse that Fantasy Junction says the Lusso is still in California, huh?

    Hey wheeler-dealer,

You did read the rules right? if you want to conduct business on the forum, subscribe and posts your ads in FerrariAds.com. THEN maybe you can act like a big time car broker. But if you can't find $15, then maybe you're just a fizzle.
