I looked at some old notes and I am now sure Iommi was the first owner, likely when the car was registered JLL 866 K, and certainly the owner before the Scottish owner. This is because the car was advertised for sale in late 1980 by Bill Clouston of Langland Motor Company with 28,000 km and in the subsequent Mel Nichols CAR article (for which Langland loaned the car) he is quoted as saying that he had just acquired it from a Scottish owner, Ken Smith. From that point onwards its history of ownership is fairly well-established. My notes say:

    - Tony Iommi
    - Ken Smith
    - John Forbes
    - Stephen Keen
    - Simon Draper
    - Sir Anthony Bamford
    - ??
    - Simon (current owner)
As well as a few dealers in-between..

By the way in the Mel Nichols test, he sees 180 mph with more to come, faster than any Miura S has ever seen.

Interesting. Iommi had great taste when he ordered this car. The colour really suits the Miura, and there can't be that many in the same colour.

    Thanks.

Just 2 Miura SVs delivered in Azzuro Cielo, and this is the only one that remains in original color.

Knew it was a rare colour on a Miura SV but didn't realize it was that rare. It's odd that there are many red and yellow cars but so few of colours such as the Azzuro Cielo, gold and white, which, in my opinion, really suit the lines of the Miura.

That's what I thought as well. The front number plate looks about the right size for that car.

Couldn't agree more! Apparently Elton John once had a white Miura but I don't know if it was an SV. Can't seem to find out anything about the car.

That's 5080 when owned by Emilio S in Switzerland. Its no longer white (now dark metallic blue), and whats interesting is that this is the only 'other' SV delivered in Azzuro Cielo!

Thats a shame Azzuro Cielo ( duck egg blue to us ) is stunning colour may be one day the present or a future owner will desire the original colour.. IMO a very beautiful colour that looks awesome on a Miura....

the colour of a car is a very personal thing, each to there own. There also always seems to be fads in certain periods of time when a colour seems to be the must have.

White is fashionable again but 6 years ago you try an sell a white car it was worth alot less than Black or or a good metallic colour.. Now it seems white is back in But there is a buyer for every car you just have to find the right man for the right colour at the time you have the car... MMMM simples!!

Any way enough of my ramblings... Colour strange like Marmite LOVE IT or HATE IT sometimes

Didnt Roy sell 5080 to an F-Chater who had plans to bring it back to its original colour?
A bit of an shame that it didnt happen.
