I found this as a verification question on an Italian car forum. Maybe I'm a pinhead, but I'm at a loss. Anyone know? What's the family name of Carlo, the grand car-manufacturer?:
Since Bugatti is French, I don't think that's the right answer on an Italian car website. The answer is probably Abarth, which is an Italian car company, although Carlo (Karl) Abarth was Austrian by birth.
I'd have to second Bugatti. Italian forums can still admit to the existence of lesser manufacturers of the world.
OK, so maybe not an Italian car site, but it's an Abarth forum. But, I have tried "Bugatti", "Maserati", and even jokingly tried "Monte" and "Ferrari", but the site won't accept any of those answers. http://www.abarth-gmr.be/forum/index.php?action=register
Carlo Abarth's parents were Karl Anton Abarth and Dora Taussig. I think they just want you to type in "Abarth", so they know you're a real person.
I finally got it to work. I had tried Abarth before, but I mistook another error for an incorrect answer. Cool site though.
Molsheim is in Alsace, which was part of Germany until 1918 (1871-1918), and since Bugatti was established in 1909, Bugatti was actually originally a German company...
