Anniversary of the Assassination of JFK

Obviously to protect the guilty.

Even Elvis will probably be dead by then.

Or more accurately, does it matter anymore? Even Elvis died more recently.

I don't think it's necessarily correct to presume we are protecting someone guilty by sealing the records for that long. Keep in mind where we were at as a country when it happened... what was going on with Cuba, the USSR and Vietnam. It may simply be that there was some infighting or some details that they didn't want to fall into the hands of other countries whilst the people were still alive.

For example (and this is a ridiculous example, but it's just to illustrate), let's say it turns out JFK had AIDS. They seal the records until all the players are dead and when it comes out later, it's a non-issue.

It could also done for the same reasons as pardoning Nixon... just to put an end to the controversy.

I used to do a trade show in Dallas around this time each year and there were always conspiracy theorists flooding the hotels. A very weird group

No link, but I believe Jackie Kennedy had some influence on wanting the pictures sealed for herself and her children. Of course, it has turned out to be optimistic to think they would live that long.

 

It was definitely a conspiracy, between the reverse vampires and the Rand Corporation.

I never understood why so many "smart" folks think this was just an impossibility. A wacko shoots a guy in a convertible. Hell, ANYONE could have walked up to the car off the sidewalk and blown him away.

Now, as far as "why" Oswald did it...

The JFK assassination has always intrigued me.

Wouldnt have a clue what happened, but I cant wait till 2039 to find out more.

See, I love that stuff on Kennedy and never miss a show on it.

I have seen them repeat it over and over. It CAN be done! Besides, if it came from the front I believe it would have killed Jackie too.

Absolutely agree. In the same room Oswald supposedly took the shot was another window wher the motorcade approached the building. He had a clear shot of JFK approaching the building where he could have taken a body shot from 50 yards. Instead he chose a going away head shot from 150 yards. Never made any sense to me.

 

I love that stuff too... I recently saw one that went over several of the "reasons" why it couldn't have been Oswald, and refuted them all. They also went over some computer reenactment that showed that the bullets definitely came from the book depository.

The Kennedy Assassination really interests me, and my theory is this:

There were 2 shooters, Oswald and another guy shooting from behind the fence near the knoll. Oswald hit him on the first shot, fled the building, and the second shooter hit him with a head shot. I don't know how you can look at that film and say that the shot that hit his head came from behind him. It's impossible.

As for motive or affiliation, I have no idea. I'm guessing we'll know more about that in 2039.

 

I am a die-hard conservative and my bona fides on this board should be apparent. Not a big Oliver Stone follower. (I actually like his movies and hate his politics.)

HOWEVER,

I believe Stone got it as right as anyone else with his Kevin Costner movie.

That magic bullet--makes 7 holes, goes through (or bounces off of) at least 3 bones (Kennedy's rib, Johnson's wrist and Johson's thigh) and is barely deformed? No way.

Also, Johnson's statement "They are going to kill us all!" He knew there was more than one shooter.

AND ONE MORE THING. If you have a bolt action rifle and you are in a hurry, you don't eject the 3rd cartridge after the 3rd shot. You shoot three times, and run.
