    Think so?
I remember Marco posting up a how-to thread on getting the readings from the O2 sensors while it's running. I'll have to search the archives for the thread. It was when he was monkeying around with his MAFs. But as for if it's dynamic adding or subtracting, and when, beats me??? I'm just a Stooge. Though I think Shemp has the actual maps?

Anyhoooo.......I numbered the injectors so the shop can tell me which one was doing what.

David pulls of a classic, Ernies follows up with an award winner and then we have Andrew talking rescue techniques.

As one of the Founding Members of GFRT, the only "leaping" that most of these members could be involved in would be gravity induced, hopefully onto something soft!

On a side note.... Plugzit, I found a "box" under a Judson SuperCharger sitting on a work bench yesterday. You havent gone and worked Stooge majic on a wiring harness yet have you? Who would have ever guessed that one day we would have Ernie car, Wiring Harnesses, Computers and 348's come back around as a topic in the same sentence? The more I think about it the more I remember how DEEPLY connected to Ernies car I really am! Cant go back there again, this one cant be replaced.

With Hair Dryers being all the rage now....

The old TR3 tractor engine is going to get a little boost. Considering the head shed near 1/4" back when I was racing, I might have to use 348 pistons in it now. That old Judson is a NOS part a friend found that someone dropped a screw in 40 yrs ago and gave up on it before it ever turned. Now, if I could just find a nice Marvel Mystery Oiler I would be set.

He aint getting 'that', I have the enduro engine for the IMSA car 'that' is mapped to SO.... ZERO talk of "re-mapping", "experimentation", "cloning", "trial" this or "that" will even be suggested.

With the track rental and mapping time invested in this computer getting the Enduro package sorted... there is no room for risks, everything must be verified absolutely correct before it gets plugged in. This loaner program requires signatures in blood and the Super Secret GFRT decoder ring handshake as it is going in the IMSA this winter with the freshened engine it belongs with!

It works fine with that engine as it sits now IF everything went together right. The run time on that engine is with this computer. I never had time to build up another for that engine before the car got legs....

Is that big plug still connected EXACTLY like it was before or has it been removed?

If you like. Tomorrow afternoon I'll be doing a compression test on it. I accidentally butt called DH yesterday, and called him back later in the day when I saw the call stamp on my cell. After a talk with Master Yoda :D and listening to his wisdom, it's best for me to just start from scratch, and go bit by bit, instead of the ass-u-me-ing ;) and guessing I was doing trying to figure out what was causing the miss. In a nut shell the Stooging wasn't cuttin it anymore.

    Dave,

I did not know that. I thought it was in a box of spares. Before you misplace it again you better put that jewel into the IMSA car. I gotta see that thing run one of these days.

It was in safe keeping in the loft. Since we finished the house I still have not had time to organize all the 348/355 parts that got stacked up there.... bins upon bins of parts that overflowed into the hay barn.... Ernie would be peeing blood at first sight, engines, NOS A arms, NOS weatherstrip, computers...... The Judson and the IMSA Enduro Computer were in the safe keeping pile on the workbench in the loft, now I have to find the engine! One day I will find the time.... and Plugzit says he wants to go back to that barn in the mountains where I left behind 2 3/4 PLUS Challenge cars. Verified last month... the broken down hay binder I drug in front of the barn door with a tractor is still in place, the collection is likely still intact and the homestead still empty. Dream on THAT Ernie!

That Sprint engine you saw going together years ago.... that is for a younger man with a bigger pair than I, that has more energy than myself! A SERIOUS giggle but I will leave the 4 running hour belt changes for the next owner and put the Enduro engine in it after a freshen up and a new cam. That engine is no slouch but is good for a season or two between belts, more my style these days. Even with the car set up for Quick top engine removal.... still more than I want to do every other weekend.

I told Kris that with the Enduro engine in it we could take it on club drives in the mountains.... Imagine her reaction and excitement to that suggestion. No windows, no heater, sprung like a hay trailer, 9# flywheel/clutch with a 320 degree cam and no muffler. I bought a WC Rally Car intercom system so we could hold a conversation and promised a cup holder that would hang off the fire system on the passengers floor. Her reaction.... "This isn't what I had in mind when we discussed a drive in the mountains in the Ferrari".... Women! I need instruction from Vince on how to deal with this.

I told Kris we would trailer it out your way when it gets really cold here. I should have it ready for the Inaugural GFRT Invitational Track Event.

Nothing like a conversation with someones backside to liven up a snowy Sunday morning....

Logic, a Purpose flow chart and no more WAG's, you will like the results Ernie. Who knows, you might even get to drive it this year...... NAW! Even if you did you would still pull it back apart after a weeks time. Convince your wife the spare engine you are building in the garage is Vince's and you are just borrowing it to build a race engine.... then Pray they never talk, its a risk we must all bear!

Well the compression test came out so-so. Not fantastic, not horrible, just eeh. The numbers were a little low but, the engine was stone cold, the temp of the block was MAYBE 50ºF. I checked the compression early in the morning, and it was a dry test. A couple cylinders were a bit suspect, but still with in the 10-15% range compared to the highest compression cylinder. I know that you'll get lower numbers testing it cold, and that the numbers will be better doing it warm, and a wet test will also give you a bit different results. It was just to see were the engine was, and for an engine that is pushing 70,000 miles on the ticker I wasn't expecting tip top numbers. In a nut shell, the bottom end is good enough to get still get the job done.

So I'm gonna wait until I get the results back from the injector shop and then go from there.
