The 1973 Daytona 24h winning RSR was in Australia for a few years in the '80s in the Modena Collection (Pat Burke)

    Stunning car, congratulations.

A friend of mine recently sold his RSR and replaced it with a Fiat 8V. BIG difference in performance :)

Very neat , and uncommon . In that , if hopefully as described , it has remained close to original (very unheard of for an RSR).

I don't mean to offend the owner , but why is it wearing Number 59 ?

This car only ran as number 97 , both times it raced :

    1973 3 Hrs. of Indianapolis , 14.10.1973 / Hagestad - No. 97

    1973 Daytona 250 Miles , 25.11.1973 / Hagestad - No. 97

    Don't you think that is a bit derespectful to RSR's : 911 360 0328 , 911 360 0686 , 911 360 0705, 911 360 0727 . Which are the Brumos related 1973 RSR's , that actually raced in 1973 wearing that number .

My opinion is unless you have proof , that all the records keepers are wrong . Loose that number.

If you do have proof , then great. I congratulate you even more so.

So its not a Brumos car?
Down here in Australia we have a nice old RSR2.8 #911.360.0784
Mate also owns a Hagstead car down here fully restored but a 3.0 litre RSR.

It is a Brumos car with original paint scheme .... Only question is the number. Not Offended at all! Fchat is know for good debates :)

I didn't paint the number on the car. I purchased it that way. So, to me either way is OK.

I'm might agree with you. But not sure. I go back and forth. The car didn't race with the number 59. But, It was a 100% Brumos car. Delivered to Brumos. On the show room floor painted by Brumos in the colors and custom fuel cell. Sold by Brumos to Hagestad. So, it is a Brumos car that wasn't raced by Brumos for some unknown reason. You can see in a previous picture in the above post that the Brumos colors were cover with vynil when Hagestad raced the car. I believe he covered the colors, instead of removing, because he wanted to preserve the car the way Brumos had built the car. It's obvious that if Hagestad sold the car after he raced it the Brumos color might ad value to the car ( Chinetti was famous for selling Ferraris in special race livery and this might be unusual for Porsche) . Same reason Brumos painted the car and put it on the show room floor for sale. I know, still cant explain the number and if it was or was not on the car or should remain. If Hagestad is alive I guess he would know if the 59 number was on the car on the show room floor.

I might take off the 59 but not the colors. It might look better with just the stripes. Specially for driving on the road.

Any inputs from the fans? No matter either way :)

    P. S. I had no idea that their was so many RSR fans. I've never own a Porsche before.

IMO I'd take the numbers of her.
and return her to what was her correct colour when factory sold her or when Hagstead raced her.
Whatever way its still one of the finest sport racing cars anyone could own.

Fantastic cars - a friend has just acquired #1054 with competition history - light yellow and will be enjoyed !!!

Check out early 911s registry - there's lots and lots of early 911 fans in that forum....

that car would look good without wheels, no numbers required tho the racing history numbers would be cool
