At the rate they make patches this game will be fixed around the same time the 2011 game is out

 

So we ARE just beta-testing for 2011 -- LOL!!!

I seriously think they made it worse. The penalties are a complete joke, I rub tires with Alonso and get 5 place grid penalty and then I literally roll Liuzzi in the Monaco hairpin and nothing. Section 3 of Monaco is still undriveable and I think worse, but through the casino seems to be better FPS wise.

 

I find the problem with S3 at Monaco seems to be much worse when a lot of the cars are in the pits, the issue isnt nearly as noticeable if the pits are empty during a race.

My fastest time so far is in a Red Bull 1.42.3. Xbox controller Making lots of mistakes after the 2nd main straight.

 

Did my first race with the patch and enjoyed a lot less nannying. Have to see whether it changed my custom choices since I managed to drive Button off the track without even a warning.

 

I'll hop on tonight and give Yas Marina a shot. I still haven't done the update, so i''m interested to see if it worked at all.

 

Did a 1:39:014 in a Red Bull using xbox controller.

 

You have a 1:38 something, I was looking this morning. I got 1:41.9.

 

1.40.182 in the F10 with controller.

 

This game is giving me headaches again in the "realism" of it, in my 3rd season and my first with Ferrari I win WDC and they won't renew my contract and I get no offers other than Red Bull (Webber was my rival) and Force India. It just doesn't make any sense, I know have 2 WDCs out of 3 seasons and that is all I get?

 

How many "points" do you need, before ferrari shows interest in you?

Only in my 2nd season of 3. Ferrari needed 21, and made their offer when I reached it.

When driving for Ferrari, will picking your teamate as rival, then beating him, get you a contract?

I like the less radio chatter from the "engineer" after the patch.

 

Taking the current WDC spot sounds good to me!!

I'm tired of being 2nd driver. Maybe if I had picked Alonso they would have given me another contract, it's just a stupid way of doing things.

 

I think Ferrari requires 37 points to get an offer. Starting 2nd season with them, I only have 23 points, after 3 races. There's no way I make 37 for the offer. I'll try picking Alonso as rival, to see if that works.

Didn't really want to drive for McMuffin or RB, but will, if I don't make Ferrari for the 3rd season.

 

Also, does anyone else think the AI is *easier* after the patch?

 

HA yeah, last night I did a 1:38:3 something. Keep trying though .

 

I don't think I can get it down to that but will probably have another blast at the weekend. I can get all the corners right but not on the same lap it would appear

 

I thought that, I was really trying for about 10 laps and then I said to myself I'll give it two more laps, then I went faster in both on them. Don't know what I did to go quicker.... just did.

 

Well I know you didnt cheat as if you even think about cutting a corner by mistake on that track it invalidates your lap

 

Started a new season after installing the patch. Using full rules, fuel simulation and tire simulation but damage off. Race was fun: Barely any annoying messages, watched the fuel go down and the tires degrade. Hard to say there was any noticeable physics change because of the degradation (I'd say there was none ).

My strategy is to turn damage on once I have a better car. With the HRT I'm still in a lot of midfield battles where the AI cars bump into me.

My Logitech GT wheel however still doesn't parlay much feel. It does all the effects but in regards to oversteer/understeer it is rather silent (unlike the same wheel in DiRT2).

 

Yeah that's what I have noticed too. They give you the next drive based on who you pick as your main rival.

The problem with these season careers is only your wins etc carry over but all the other driver stats remain the same. There really is no point to do the 7 seasons besides getting the game achievement.

Has anyone noticed driver performance degrading as the seasons progress? Some of the top tier drivers are struggling to get into the Top 10. Might be a post patch issue..
