I have the 1st gen VR 1 of that lens on a D300 also. Do you have the battery backup for the D300. It's more than extra battery. It adds 3 frames/sec making it capable of 9 frames/sec. My favorite combo. Enjoy.
Yes, Got it. More than a battery its a portrait accessory... You can turn the camera 90 degrees and use aux . shutter release..love it, actually I put it on about 6 months ago and have not taken it off, but to charge! Much better grip with heavy lens as well.. My only complaint with this lens as with many of my others is , whether it is set on full or limit...if its too close or too far away, the Focus on the lens has a tantrum and searches indefinitly.. Dioptor must be spot on to check focus as well Makes me wonder if manual is the only way!
Never used the 2nd gen you have but mine is fast focus all the time. Auto focus on fast race cars. Camera set on continuous focus. It will drop some, but I've been happy with this lens. Another thing I've found with the battery pack. I use the AA adapter with the lithium batteries. They go on forever vs the rechargeables. I mean forever.
Cancun November 2010 I'm curious... are pine trees covered in snow as exotic to y'all in the south as palm trees are to us in the Great White North? GT Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Haha! That's Christian. My adorable 4 year old nephew. When ever I have my camera out he loves to run right up to the lens and stand there until I snap a photo. Here's another one I love. Miami Beach from Labor Day Weekend '09. Image Unavailable, Please Login
