http://planetf1.com/news/18227/6511264/Ricciardo-blows-other-rookies-away Interesting results. The RBR was way ahead of the pack with McLaren a distant second. Interestingy, the F10 was 10th behind the W01. If one believes the car is largely responsible for a drivers success, this probably raises Alonso's stock. Could it diminsh Vettels and Webbers stock (ala Buttons elevation to success by Brawns '09 car dominance)?
Quite bad for Webber... Not to take away from Ricciardo's lap (which is amazing regardless) but he has been the test driver for Red Bull and STR for 2 years..
Keep in mind that the track is much more rubbered in than when Q3 took place. Edit: sorry, similar posts are already in the other thread.
Exactly did RBR give SV car as driven to victory and told him to go out and have some fun. Or did they take the care off base and see if the rookie could give them some feed back on what the car is doing. Also Ferrari and others might be testing a few new test parts in anticipation of 2011 car development.
