    Today was the big day. After waiting for 6 weeks for some engine work to be completed, Brian and Sheila Poff delivered my 355 to my front door this afternoon. I thought the day would never come. I then got to deal with finalizing insurance, getting a state inspection, paying sales tax and licensing fees, and putting on my plates. Once all of that was done, I got in the car and sat there for a minute. It hit me....I own one of the best cars in the world and am officially part of the F-Chat world.

    Of course, then I tried to put the top down, and had a minor issue. Figured it out and away I went.

    In these parts (Kansas City) these cars are pretty rare and that was apparent from the stares. I met at least (10) people that just wanted to see the car up close. I made sure to adhere to the Exotic Car Owner's Code of Conduct (which is an awesome document I found in this forum) and answered questions as best I could. I drove around for a couple of hours on a beautiful fall afternoon and then took her home to her new home. She sits bewteen the 911 and 750LI and is currently acquainting herself with her new friends. I now get it!

    And wear that 355 with pride- Damned Straight this is still one of the best cars in the world- one of the best cars ever made...Lots of pricier metal on these forums- but 355 ownership is quite a privilege for us lucky few.

    Lol...when you had the problems with the top was when you officially joined us. :)

    Many congrats, Jeff! You're gonna love her. I remember getting my 355 last year at this time and that first drive is pure magic.

    Ahhh, I always remember that FIRST day as an F-car owner.

    Congrats!!!! Enjoy her in good health.

    BTW, did the other two German b!tches bow down to Her Italian Royal Highness as they get acquainted? A new queen for the garage has arrived! :D

    I bought my 355 spider 3 years ago with 10,500 miles. It now has 35,000 miles. These have been the happiest miles of my life! Congrats on your new baby, make sure she gets plenty of exercise. A driven Ferrari is a happy Ferrari :)

    awesome, spiders are great with the top down. i also have a spider, 1995. a fancy muffler (tubi, capristo) really brings out the music.
