I know the "season" of Coffee & Cars is running short but I am wondering if there is any interest in a Monmouth/Ocean County C&C. I believe weather will be favorable this coming Saturday morning, any interest in a C&C?

The parking lot at the Grove (Shrewsbury) might be a good place to meet. The Grove has a Starbucks, a large parking area and most shops do not open until 10AM.

    Any thoughts? Interest?

    Thanks and regards,
    Scott

I would come, but my car won't be ready by then - I'm going to try and make the Dec. 11th in Chatham.

Anytime after that, I'm certainly going to come to Monmouth events.

    Thanks,
    Erik

Is this the first time this event is happening, being from ocean county i have been wondering where the ocean/monmouth county events have been.
Any ideas of how many will be attending?

This would be a first if it happens - not looking so good at the moment. As such, unfortunately I have no idea on attendance.

I have been up to Chatham and I think it is fantastic. This thread is an attempt to gauge if the 'shore area' can come up with something to fill in the gaps between events in Chatham.

My brother is in the Mid-Atlantic region and that region, in general, seems to be more active with events, etc. I was wondering if a reason might simply be because no one asked. On the other hand it just might be that there aren't enough interested folks to sustain something down here.

If more interested does not materialize, we'll give it another shot in the Spring.

Since we are at the end of the season, why don't you get anyone interested to come to Chatham? The more the merrier.

I 100% recommend Chatham to anyone who has yet to attend.

With the next event being 4 weeks out I thought I would see if we could fit a more local C&C in the meantime. It takes me about an hour to get to Chatham, which I don't mind, but for folks further south it could easily take 1.5 hours or more.

Not trying to replace or compete with Chatham at all. Besides, it is easier to discuss how great the turnout is in Chatham face-to-face, no?

Also, with the weather a month out being not easily predictable - why not shoehorn another car event in when you have known good weather?

Regardless of any of this, it would only be worthwhile if there are people who want to come out and so far... not so much! : )

Actually, just to clarify, our next C&C gathering in Chatham is scheduled for Sunday November 28...

Dude - PLEASE do it Monmouth / Ocean - the Grove would be a great place.

I'd be there for sure...is it on or not?

There's NOTHING in the area...nothing...count me in.

I am in Central NJ (Colts Neck / Freehold / Marlboro area- would take me more than 1 hour to get to Chatham. I used to work in Murray Hill, and I am currently working in Basking Ridge - both take me an hour from where I am. Chatham would be 20-30 minutes longer.

With my '66 E-Type, it would be too far to chance, especially for an early morning junket.

Do this in Monmouth - perfect.

My suggestion is instead of asking, just announce it on a bunch of lists and do it. If two of you show up the first time, so be it. I doubt Chatham had 80 cars the first time they did it either.

There are a lot of interesting cars squirreled away in the immediate area (Fux has a Veyron, I've seen a 550 Barachetta, Superleggera, Murcielago, Noble, etc all in Middletown/Red Bank/Fair Haven).

Done. 8AM Saturday 11/20 @ The Grove in Shrewsbury NJ. We'll park across from the Starbucks somewhere out of the way.

I'll be there with my 360, my buddy with his gorgeous E30 M3, another buddy with either his S52/E30 M3 or Euro M535i. Still waiting to hear from the Noble owner - it was just fixed so it should still be running on Saturday... Also pinging the owner of the Lancia last week. He has a Scud too.

Nice! It looks like we are getting somewhere.

I will be there @ 8AM - '88 911 Carrera. I have dropped a few notes out to see if we can stir up a few more car guys & gals..

That's true -- I think we had about 30 cars. And I think we had even that many because I had a database of names/email addresses of people who had participated in a charity rally that my daughter had organized a few weeks before. Was very informal and still is, even though as of today we have 191 members of the C&C Yahoo Group! Good luck with your gathering -- no harm in getting a bunch of car guys together, and I appreciate your sensitivity to not doing it on the same day as a C&C event so as to prevent dilution.

I'm glad somebody has finally said something about getting together in central NJ. I was at Chatham twice, it also took me about an hour to get there but it was a great event. It would be great to have an event that is closer to me. Good idea.

Scott, I think our C&C started with about 5 attendees. Good luck. I will definitely come up some time - probably not in the Caterham but I'd say any of the others should be able to make the trip.

    Pete,

You are close but that is not correct. The Grove is actually in Shrewsbury - one town away from Red Bank. The location on your link is ~ a mile from our meeting place.

Here is a link to The Grove - http://www.thegroveatshrewsbury.com/

This might also help although don't pay too much attention to where Google locates the Starbucks. The Starbucks is actually one of the shops in the shopping center. You can't miss it...

Another buddy of mine says he's going to stop by with his stroker motor Dinan E92 M3.

The Noble should be there too. "Worst case", he brings his supercharged Elise, which isn't a bad consolation prize.
