Just looking on the website of PAUL BABER (FERRARI)

They have a used Ferrari 275GTB tool kit for sale....£15,000

Are they really worth that much. Surely not?

Maybe .........a lot of the old car's kits are big money...

Mine for the 308GTB (2 rolls) can break $1K if you "have to have them"....

Can you will a major competition without one?

If there are more cars than kits, the market is made.

You could probably piece one together for a lot less than that. Get replica stuff until you can find the real pieces.

Check what people pay for a 308 wallet or tool roll, and those were made in kazillions compared to the 275GTB's equivalents.

I don't get it: people selling cars without their tools and books. Where do they end up? Mostly in someone's attic or basement.

Back when no one cared they got thrown in the corner of the garage to make more space in the trunk. 12 owners later someone noticed it was missing. The tools were long since in a land fill.

Amazing to think you can buy a nice Mondial or serviceable 308 for the price
of the single 275 tool kit.!

It's all a matter of relativity. If you have a "perfect" and well documented car which is of tremendous value something like this is worth quite a lot.

If you have a nice car and just want a complete display it may be better money spent to get a reproduction kit which has been accepted in showing.

When the older cars were current, there was a lot of "in with out without" re books and tools. I knew a couple of dealers and dealership employees that had big inventories of the kind of stuff.
