Can anyone tell me what is this plug for? It is for a 99 Modena. I look all around to see if the other end is near of it and nothing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A diagnostic plug for ? Peel back the boot and note the wire colors, then see if you can find a complete wiring diagram and find these colors.
David, If you can tell me what the wire colors are, I can look at my harness diagrams. Can I presume yours is a US car? Aaron
Thanks guys! I think is purple and maybe a color between blue and green like emerald You tell me; Image Unavailable, Please Login
OK, I come up with Secondary Air solenoid valve. One wire is purple, the other is Blue with a green trace. Aaron
You guys just openned my mind! The color are Z= Violet & LV=Green & blue Following the diagram I think that from the color and the shape the 31S is my missing plug!! which is the Secondary air solenoid valve (USA) Check the following pictures and share your thoughts!! It does not apply to my since my car dont have a air injection at the exhaust manifold. Secondary Air System; Image Unavailable, Please Login
The picture you show is for a connector at the back of the motor. My picture shows connector 6L at the front of the motor. (I wish I knew how to post it). It's shown near the fuel pressure sensor labeled 5L. I'll keep looking
See if you can locate 28 in this picture http://www.ricambiamerica.com/parts_catalogs.php?M=FE&P=&V=diag&I=563
Don't let the term Secondary Air throw you, it could be semantics. The solenoid I think it goes to is part of the exhaust bypass system. Were those components perhaps removed when your aftermarket exhaust system was installed? There is a tank and associated plumbing for that system.
Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? The solenoid closes exhaust path valves at idle to control noise, but that restrains airflow. Perhaps the prior owner removed it encourage the exhaust sound and improve low RPM performance.
Yeah, looks to me like the plug that ought to be connected to the exhaust valve that opens / closes at 3000 rpm. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=111985&highlight=exhaust+switch
