How fortuitous- although tickets usually don't become available until early December, they just went on sale for the May 29, 2011 GP de Monaco today! If you want the really good stuff (top row of a grandstand by the harbor- K-1 through K-8, the lower section # the better), act NOW. I bought mine today and had to settle for K-5 in order to get top row seats. Go to: www.acm.mc , and click on "Billeterie en Ligne" at the top right. If you don't speak French you can get most of the web site in English or Italian too, but for some sections it's French-only.

As noted previously there's a chance the date will change again to delay by one week due to Ascension holiday June 2 - this may be announced in the second week of December after the FIA WMSC meeting

While the race is normally over Ascension, I don't think that's ALWAYS been the case (this will be my 20th year, but I don't remember for certain). In any event, I don't think the ACM would've begun ticket sales (much less done so earlier then ever before) if there were any serious doubts about the date. Having said all that, the race has been held in early June before.
When the date was changed for 2010, my hotel (with which I have a standing annual reservation) e-mailed me a week or so beforehand to tell me that a change was possible, but that they'd hear for certain FROM THE ACM soon and let me know- the implication was that what the ACM says, goes.

call the restaurant. 3 707 93 25 56 90. we go on thursday. half the price and the spread's the same. great food, champange flowing, air conditioning and you're so close to the cars you can look into the drivers eyes. get there early and stay all day.

That's a tough call, as it's pretty subjective. I think if it's your first time it'd be great to sample different locations on each of the three days.
As you know my preference is for the K grandstands at the harbor. In addition to the giant screen (there are others, but this one is the largest), if you can score seats in a high row of the lower-numbered sections (K-1,2, etc.) you can see all the way from the exit of the tunnel, through the chicane, down by the harbor-front, and over towards the swimming pool, but the view in the K stands is less expansive as the section number increases. If you sit in the very top row (probably already sold out), you not only can stand as much as you like without bothering anyone else, but also turn around and, depending on just which section you're in, also see a portion of the track from the starting grid up to Ste. Devote.
Years ago I sat in Casino Square and wasn't too impressed. The grandstand across from the swimming pool wasn't too bad, and the newer ones by the pits look interesting (but maybe less so now that there's no refueling). A friend spoke highly of the tall, narrow grandstand adjacent to the chicane (good for watching drivers try to outbrake one another), but if I remember correctly, it's only open on Sunday.
