Well to those who say Scud prices have not/will not depreciate further (usually because they own one), here is an example for sale at 165k. Higher miles, and some paintwork (no accidents), but still, 165k. What a FANTASTIC value. Makes people asking 130-140k for regular 2005 430 coupes look like total dufuses!

Too bad it's gray, or else I would think quickly how to try and snag it! (I know there are Silverstone lovers out there, more power to you, variety makes the world go round.)

Amazing price. Probably breaks down like this:

    Stigma of having paintwork $10,000
Unfavorable color exterior (though I love it) $5,000
    Unfavorable color interior $5,000
    Mileage $10,000

    Suddenly, you're back to $195,000

Counter to this: they are ASKING $165k. Imagine walking in with a cashiers check for $155 and taking it home today?

Plus, can't see it depreciating that much further. Keep for 3 years, if driving just 2-4k each year, and probably not lose more than 20k on it for 3 years of enjoyment of an incredible car.

430s even at the low end seem to be holding firm at 115-125k, I can't imagine Scuds being less than 140k in 2-3 years.

What a fantastic investment and expenditure, esp. when you consider the low 3-year cost of ownership (assuming no major repairs, of course).

I wonder what wholesale is on that? $150 - 155K? Mileage hit alone is probably $10 - 15K. Costs almost a buck a mile just for the privilege of putting a lot of miles on it. Probably was an expensive ride when you factor everything in?

I don't mind the mileage, some of us actually drive our cars. If the door paint work was done well, that's not a problem for me. I like the exterior color, don't like the red leather interior but for that price you get a pretty great car. :)

I actually love the color combo. The biggest detractor for me is the poor spelling in the ad. Cheep?

I'm quite sure the folks at CNC know proper spelling and grammar, and it was done to be funny. But obviously misunderstood by many who view the ad.

CNC has stellar feedback on ebay, and I think a few members here have bought from them as well. I wouldn't hesitate to jump on this car if I was in the market for that color - and I bet it will go at the BIN price and not be haggled down a couple percent from the asking price.

For those who are looking to buy a modern Ferrari for investment including car flippers It's not a smart Idea anymore, never really was. Thank's to the wall street fall now we don't have investors driving up the supply and demand anymore, that is the only thing good out of the wall street crap.. 5 years is now down to 3 years and now we are seeing that the insane peolpe that were paying insane market up are now getting hammered with a car that has now droped. Thanks to the dealers and the car flippers who was driving up the cost and demand. Ferrari did warn against it and Was trying to stop it but they could not get a grip on it till now. Yes you guys that buy a car drive for 400 to 600 miles then sell it back to the dealer get another from the dealer brand new then another and so on. I have seen first hand of people in a well know Ferrari dealership flipping out on the show room floor when promised a slot and the better customer meaning the flipper gets it. Something I thought was a myth and or only reading in mags, till I seen it happen at a vist to the dealership. They were never intended to be investments but to be driven and enjoyed, but that is what greed brings.

But everything you referenced is still going on today. Nothing has changed except perhaps the degree. What is happening with the Scuds is that people bought the most expensive version of a 430, which was overpriced and overproduced by Ferrari in the first place, right before the release of the 458 which at 230k msrp drastically undercut the pricing on the Scuds. This is just price adjustment to reflect the present reality that a Scud needs to be sub 200k to attract real interest, and excess supply as people unload Scuds to get their 458s. None of this should come as any surprise. Watch what happens to the 16M in the next year when the 458 Spiders hit the market.

What you are getting is a car with high mileage (relatively) and some paint work in a slightly off color combo that is priced realistically. That is why this one will sell and the other dozens and dozens of Scuds for sale will sit month after month.

    I can't believe it's not sold yet.
Maybe it's the words "paint work" but I refuse the scud market is THAT soft.

This car was obviously a DD for someone (good for them) and probably had a bad door ding or other minor damage (no biggie). I would want the SD3 printout (not the interpretation over the phone) but the entire print out to see temperatures and high revs, etc.. I'd offer 140/150 and have fun car to buzz around town.

Is this sd3 print available on all modern ferraris?

Would love to see it on my 360.... Or maybe not on second thought because i already own the car :)

SD2 and SD3 are computers that plug in to all modern Ferrari's and what they see can be printed out. Keep in mind before making a hard copy they also note if Drunk Bimbo's have ever sat in the passenger seat so you may not want to leave them laying around.
