Wonderful collection and thanks for posting.
I do hope some of those cars do hit the road from time to time.

Cool to see the old Otis Chandler museum reborn with a new collection. Glad that there are some of the modern Bugatti cars there too. LMK when you guys are planning to meet up there. I'm local and would like to check it out too.

Some of them do. Here's a pic of a few at the Monterey historics in 2009:

    Good to hear.
The contemporary prototypes are particularly interesting. (I'd love to see a Bugatti sedan make production.)
Are the prototypes on loan? There must be an interesting story behind their acquisition.

The concept cars are on loan from Bugatti. The two big cars are from 1999 - EB118 (two door) and EB218 (four door). There may have been thoughts of possible production at the time, but those gave way to the Veyron. Actually, I think the EB118 has some lines that resemble the Bentley Continental GT that has been in production since 2003.

    Thanks.
At least one was from Italdesign wasn't it?

Yes. I believe that both of the big cars (EB118 and EB218) as well as the Chiron were designed by Italdesign. The longer I looked at the Chiron, the more I liked it.

I LOVE the Chiron - I so wish they had made that car.

I took my mom to the Mullin Museum for her birthday on the first day they displayed the Atlantic to the public. Thankfully it wasn't as crowded as I was expecting it to be.

I thought the Bugatti pulled from the lake in Switzerland was the coolest display, but perhaps that's because I was very familiar with its story. I was quite surprised you can just walk right up to it and examine all it's little bits of detail. I practically had my head inside it at one point.

My mom wanted his Talbot Lago T150C Teardrop Coupe very badly. I informed her she has expensive tastes as it was perhaps the second or third most valuable car there that day.

I never bothered resizing my pics but I'll do so if there's any interest and host them on Flickr. :)

the gp bugs and the talbot are regularly raced at monterey and elsewhere... the t51 is wicked fast when in fine form...trust me, no one babies these cars on the track.
