While detailing my car, I wanted to remove the tires in order to clean the inside of the rims and wheel wells, but when I looked in the toolkit, there is no tool for the lug nuts. The manual only shows a tool when there is a spare tire. Can someone please tell me what I need (or what I'm missing)?

    Thanks

Sorry? Do I understand correctly? You want to remove your tyres so that you can clean the inside of your wheels?

I've heard of obsessive compulsive but isn't this taking it to new levels?

Yea, maybe, but I haven't done that and wanted to go to that extreme at least once.
On my question, these are Challenge rims. Will a 17mm or 18mm hex bit do the trick?

For my 360 I just used a run of the mill 17mm hex from my toolbox with a socketwrench. Turned gently to avoid crinkling the bolt finish...

I've done this before and if the barrels of the wheel are really dirty, cleaning them makes a huge difference in how things look.

But to answer your question... yes, it is a bit OCD.

    Mad,

Ok, I think you meant to say you want to remove the wheels, not the tires......

It may be OCD to you. But I suspect most people (car people) take their wheels off to get the entire wheel clean. Not to mention inside the wheel well.

Ugh... you're too serious. I was poking fun at myself for removing the wheels from all my cars (yes, I'm a car guy...) to clean the barrels.

    On a F430, you need a 22mm lug wrench ;-)
