How's everyone doing...I'm teaching my girlfriend how to drive my California. She drives my Range and her Jetta and she's a better driver than most of my buddies. She is a great driver. Any advice

I was think the samething, since it took me about 1 minute to show a women how to drive my RWD Gallardo, that has no traction control and is an egear car. Sounds like we live pretty close, my female friend will be glad to teach her.

If she's a great driver anyway, wouldn't you just need to say "be careful until you're used to the car" and that's about it? :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    Huh?

There is nothing unique about a Ferrari that is easier for a man to understand or master.

In your case, you are talking about a California!!!!! There is nothing tricky about driving it. It has an auto mode on the transmission, a gas pedal, a brake pedal, traction control and power steering. If she can drive a regular car, why would you think she couldn't drive that?

Its not like your throwing her into a tractor-trailor with a 16 speed non-syncro gearbox.

    Just my .02

    Seconded.

Today's letter of the day is T, which can be used to spell such fine words as Testarossa, Transmission, or Troll.

    All of this.

If you yourself are able to drive it, then you would know that there is nothing "special" to know, and therefore could easily teach her yourself, especially since "She drives your Range and her Jetta and she's a better driver than most of your buddies"

Teach my woman to drive? Why? She's too busy with the gathering, while I'm out hunting.

    classic.

I let my girl drive me home in my own car after having a few drinks once and vowed to never let her drive me anywhere again.

I also stopped drinking and decided public transportation wasn't so bad.

I'll volunteer to "teach" her - woman to woman. She'll need a helmet though

I thought this thread was about teaching your wife/GF to drive stick. I could use some pointers there as my wife can't seem to master a stick to drive my 2000 911 Carrera.

However, driving a Ferrari California is no different than driving a regular automatic, unless of course you are trying to teach her the concepts of gear ratios, etc , so she can drive it in manual mode and fully understand what she is doing.

This is a great way to welcome a new poster. I wonder how long it will take this Fcar owner to become a subscriber to Fchat.

This reminds me of the scene with Michael Caine and Steve Martin from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Great movie, that!

Up your insurace coverages first and foremost :)

Then drive out of the Main Line area to a less crowded area.

Have a few drinks so that even if you are thinking about getting behind the wheel and making her sit shotgun you cant...

    Wear your seatbelt!!

Obviously a man that wants to be single ... and also possibly a condesending jerk, who probably cannot drive himself.
