Yeah, it's no surprise you like this car, with all it's Urraco-like sharp edges. Do you like the coupe version, it looks particularly mean with it's central dual tailpipes. It really is one helluva car, that I have tremendous respect for. In regards to the argument between you and C about the transmission, you are correct brother, but just tell C that you agree with her, you'll never win that argument.

 

one day soon i'll buy a jalpa or a silouette, so i love the bertone styling, also love the GT4 adn think it will age very very well, they are stealing the show in the 308 "best" thread. but the caddy...cant even put that in the same sentence as vintage bertone without getting just a little throwup in my mouth.

Ha ha, yeah I probably gave the CTS V styling " a little too much credit.". I guess that's probably one of the main reasons why I ended up getting the AMG instead of the CTS V, despite the impressive performance stats.

Dog days of summer, man! Brings a tear to my eye.

 

What are Dog Days? Wilstar says...

"In ancient times, when the night sky was unobscured by artificial lights and smog, different groups of peoples in different parts of the world drew images in the sky by “connecting the dots” of stars. The images drawn were dependent upon the culture: The Chinese saw different images than the Native Americans, who saw different pictures than the Europeans. These star pictures are now called constellations, and the constellations that are now mapped out in the sky come from our European ancestors.

They saw images of bears, (Ursa Major and Ursa Minor), twins, (Gemini), a bull, (Taurus), and others, including dogs, (Canis Major and Canis Minor).

The brightest of the stars in Canis Major (the big dog) is Sirius, which also happens to be the brightest star in the night sky. In fact, it is so bright that the ancient Romans thought that the earth received heat from it. Look for it in the southern sky (viewed from northern latitudes) during January.

In the summer, however, Sirius, the “dog star,” rises and sets with the sun. During late July Sirius is in conjunction with the sun, and the ancients believed that its heat added to the heat of the sun, creating a stretch of hot and sultry weather. They named this period of time, from 20 days before the conjunction to 20 days after, “dog days” after the dog star.

The conjunction of Sirius with the sun varies somewhat with latitude. And the “precession of the equinoxes” (a gradual drifting of the constellations over time) means that the constellations today are not in exactly the same place in the sky as they were in ancient Rome. Today, dog days occur during the period between July 3 and August 11. Although it is certainly the warmest period of the summer, the heat is not due to the added radiation from a far-away star, regardless of its brightness. No, the heat of summer is a direct result of" the exhaust emanating from an enormous pack of F-cars relentlessly traversing the local terrain.

...total dog 'looking one' of the bunch is/will be the CTS-V WAGON...maybe they have it in 'resale proof gold'. And red interior...

that's a car I could totally live with as a DD, room from Bijorn and the Michellien-bambino, groceries, a motorcycle wheel or two, and fun stuff for the back roads.

it is screaming my name, no Recaro's though...I have heard they are sub standard for this brand.

I'm in if roads are dry. Gotta say that driving the CTS-V made me aware of just how primitive the ASR on the 550 is. Seems like it kicks in just as your front wheels would be leaving the edge of the cliff. If I waited for the electronics to tell me I was in trouble, I would really be in trouble. The 550 is truly the last analog car Ferrari built.
