FCA related - Ferrari spa says "Stop using our name"

we're not using the script OR their logo. I don't know what anyone's worried about. I'm not.

As you know, the turnout for the SA rally was excellent and higher than even the 2003 Rally, I believe a record for a S.A rally. There is no evidence that the rally was poorly supported.

This is despite the (unfounded) concerns in some quarters that the attendance would be compromised by the fallout from the Ferrari contract 'negotiations".

The sponsorship from the distributor and dealer has been in the order of 15K plus GST for the past few rallies, not 30K. Sure, the club does not like to loose sponsors, but a rally typically costs around 120-150K to put on, and to put it in to perspective,this amount is something like 10-15% of revenue.

The club has been using the word Ferrari in the clubs name since 1972, without any objections until now.

It is a VERY big hurdle to jump for Ferrari to suddenly, after 38 years to say : Stop

Any court told you'd negotiated and offered to enter the same relationship they'd accepted in NZ would be heavily swayed in your favour I believe.
Any evidence they or their representatives supported or dealt with the club in the past would be significant also as it implies past acceptance of the name's use.
