Hi Looking at a used QP GT, 2007. Car has 9K miles dealer took it in trade. It has the better tranny in it and rides like a dream. Any feedback is appreciated as I am looking for any and all input.

    Thanks,

    Michael

PS car will be a DD about 10k miles per year.

I looked at buying one recently. changed my mind when I was told that a 2-year powertrain warranty (engine/gearbox only; didn't cover electronics including ECU, I was told) was $5800. that didn't give me much confidence in the reliability or service costs of the car.

The ZF Automatic is a much better box, and it's a beautiful and unique choice, but it could turn out to be a bit spendy.

I bought a 07 for the wife (when I was still married to her), it was a great car, I think I drove it more than she ever did. Her only complaint was the trunk size.

Bought my 2007 Sport GT in Feb 2010 with 3000 miles. By Oct I had 9000 on it.
Love it. No problems. Highly recommend.
You want photos, I got photos.
Note: the car came with the mesh grill which I thought was a little to agressive. So when a bar grill popped on eBay I bought it and changed it out. I think it makes the car look a little more elegant and less aggressive. I also wanted and like the 20" wheels it came with.
Oh, make sure to get the $850 paddle shifter option to go with the ZF Auto. Makes cruising through traffic on the LA/Seattle freeway much more fun.
    Ciao,

What ever you do, don't spill any fluids near the shifter, it's like spilling water on your keyboard while surfing the net.

Nice cars, I really want one as a daily driver, but not for maybe a year and a half, so I'm just doing my homework, I have a VERY specific set of options that I'd wait for, mainly with the interior finish.

Does the Quattraporte have a fold down panel between the trunk and rear seat area?

    Thanks, Dennis

No Opening in the rear seat. I just drove it from Boston to NYC and this cars is quite impressive. Had a blast, steering and suspension is nimble and quick. It just ate up the road.

Why would you not use it as a daily driver ?

Is the Duo-Select a rear transaxle? The ZF is mounted to the engine, so what about the rear suspension? Are there huge differences in the rear suspensions? Also I see some advertised with the blue engine, 4.2 and some with a red engine, also listed as 4.2, I thought the red was 4.7, not? I still have 2 years on my Audi lease, so I'm just gathering info. I know there was a mid life styling update for the '08, anything else I should know updated at that time? Also is the duo-select available on '08s? Thanks so much for all the info......Dino
