The combo of Dave's mechanics and Chris's twisted vision is wonderful. This is inspiring.

Must go read about injector duty cycles....

    Stay tuned!

Just got my new coil pack bracket. Nothing fancy. Came out pretty good.

I can finally toss out the cardboard template. :)

"Customizations to bespoke automobiles to the owner's taste is a longstanding Ferrari tradition among genuine enthusiasts. Perhaps not collectors, but certainly the motorsports enthusiasts whom the cars were to be meant for. The classical Ferrari client didn't look to resale vale, rather the passion, mechanical beauty and enthusiasm that the little cars from the small Italian hamlet were endowed by their creator." -Russ Turner

    Chris,

I couldn't help but notice those old, nasty looking fuel and tank vent lines...These are (fairly) easy to change now, before you install the coils. With all the time and effort that you've put into this project, I'd spend a bit more time and make that engine compartment "safe". As you may have seen while you were up here, I stock the full line of Scuderia Rampante hoses, as well as the OEM tank vent lines.

Nice, nice work on the coil bracket!!!

    Best,
    David

Damn, i would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for David. :)

I have a new clear vent hose to replace the old yellow crudy looking one.

What's the trick on getting that out? Take some cutting plillers to it?
And the new one? Put a little vasseline so it can slide in better?

Sorry, for some reason, that sounds a little dirty.

To quote Smokey the Bear..."Only you can prevent forest fires", so change all of those old hoses. The fuel vent lines can be easily removed by carefully slicing away the side of the hose with a razor blade. To reinstall the new hose, heat them with a heat guy, or blow drier...and they'll slide right on.

    Thanks David.

Well, i tried the old razor blade trick, but the blade snapped on me. That plastic is tough to slice.

So i figured i do it the hard way and take out the 3 screws that hold the fuel line, one of those long cloth vent lines and the aluminum vent pipe. Like David said, these things need to be changed too.

Here's a picture of the old cruddy plastic vent and the new plastic vent i got from Dan (PT 328) about two years ago. Thanks again Dan.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this info and you'd put it in your original thread if I'd taken the time to properly search.

This belt should solve my problem. I was only looking at industrial belts which progressed in 40 mm increments. The 960/120 teeth was creating an issue where I needed a slightly smaller tensioner to get the belt on. This belt has one extra tooth ... 968 mm/121 teeth. I think someone in the cosmos was looking out for you for that belt to exist ;). I was right at the point today to make the tensioners up and now I can put that energy into something else while I wait for the belts to show up from ...... Amazon :).

For some reason you mentioned some 920 length belts to me long ago. Are they for the 4v? I have a couple of those if anyone can use them.

    cheers

I saw your blue belts in person on Friday evening. They look every bit as good as they do in the photo :)

David is still hard at work on my engine and on 2 of our local Fchatters engines. I also dropped off my transaxle to him.

    That's about it.

David can always ad anything he wants.

    To be continued.............

After a minor set back, the engine is sitting quite nicely on the transaxle. All the remains is to adjust a few valves and run through the cam timing again...
