I just took my Boxer into the garage this morning and was quoted a £45,000 repair bill :(
I think the trick is not to over-train them before a fight and make sure they eat plenty of carbohydrates before a bout. I didn't know you had a Boxer. What was the repair bill for on it? All the best, Andrew.
I bought it last thursday mate, I noticed it was not driving right so took it to a specialist this morning, he informed me that the chassis is twisted and the structural rigidity is compromised
Well... congratulations and commiserations in equal measure then. Was it bought privately or from a dealership? Did the price reflect it's true condition or was this a surprise after paying market rates? If the latter, any chance of reversing the sale and searching for one that isn't structurally compromised, or adjusting the sale price to reflect the car's condition? All the best, Andrew.
I paid £102,500 for it through a Ferrari dealer, yes this was a nasty surprise, well I just paid the bill so I guess I will just swallow the loss
Ouch. Once the repair is done though, you'll have a terrific car to drive. Any chance of any pictures? All the best, Andrew.
Surely if you bought it from a dealer only last Thursday for over £100,000 you have some comeback on this? The car has a twisted chassis and is "structurally compromised" and needs £45,000 spending on it....and I'm guessing you did not know this when you bought it? Unless the car is priced cheaply due to the faults (I don't know the values of these) I'd be straight back with it. They have a legal obligation to deal with it and I'm sure you could just get your money back.
The work is being done now and I really dont want the hassle over £45,000, just looking forward to having it back.
That's a tremendous amount to write off just to avoid the hassle. Hell, that's about the target I'm aiming at saving up for to get a 348 and do a major service and limited restoration in its first year. In any case, only you know how valuable your time is - and if it's worth more than the £45k then that's fair enough. All the best, Andrew.
Let me sort it out for you, i will get my mum on to them! But seriously £45,000 and that's just the quote so its bound to be more. Get back in touch with the dealer and give them a chance to sort it out or at least give you some compensation. I wound how it got through an mot with a twisted chassis, did you HPI it, the dealer should have done this at least to see if anything showed up. If it shows up as being damaged that will say with it for the rest of the cars life and will devalue the car as well even if you put it right. That was a top price too, they seem to be around £80-90 I do hope its a wind up!
It gets better I have just been informed that the engine needs a major overhaul Maybe I should name the dealer and show pics of their garage?
Wow mate, 2 Ferrari's Let's see those pics then.. And name the dealer yes - You should demand that they pay it.
Sure is.. A lot more important things in life But you are probably the last person I need to tell that
