First off I want to mention that Fchat was a major influence and great source of info for me when it came time to order my car. You would think it would be easy when its finally your turn to go in and order your car but as you sit down...you start to question yourself!

I have gone back and forth several times on the color itself... My 430 is titanium with red interior and I simply love it. I had the opportunity a couple of weeks ago to attend a car run that had 6 Italia's there. 3-black, 1-yellow, 1-silver and 1-red. Its such a cliche, a red Ferarri, but wow! It looked amazing. That's the color im going with. My dealer had a white one on the showroom floor and that actually would be my second choice.

As I mentioned, I love my red interior on my 430 but on a red car it can become too much real easy. I actually ordered the car last week and it had the dual interior with the red stripe horizontally. I just didnt feel it so I searched every pic I could find on fchat and saw Isuk's car and loved it. So even though we have never met... thank you!

I the photoshoped the configurator and headed back to the dealer on Sunday. He liked it and made a suggestion of changing to a white tach... I agreed.

    Here are the specs:
RSCH Racing seats In Carbon Fiber. Black leather with red Alcantara
    RMSV 20" painted sport wheels
LOGO Scuderia Ferrari shields on fenders
    PEXS Sport sill cover
    CALR Rosso Corsa brake Calipers
    RPMW White Rev Counter
    DATR Carbon Fiber dashboard trim
CIDL Carbon Fiber Driver Zone+Steering wheel with LEDs.
CILR Carbon fiber for Tunnel Console
UALZ Alcantara upholstery for upper zone
    ARMC Alcantara upholstery for armrest
STC1 Colour upon request for standard stitching
    ALIH Alcantara headliner
    ALIC Alcantara interior carpets
TPM0 Tyre pressure + temperature monitoring system
    IPOD iPod Connection

    SPECIAL EQUIPMENT
    Red 20" wheel centers
Steering wheel with red lower inserts
    Lower dash in red Alacntara

I will find out my production date soon but if everything goes smooth I should have it in January!

My boss has an F430 coupe in Titanium and Red interior and it's amazing.

    I think you've made a great choice!

I didn't know (however I was hoping for) that the lower dash could be ordered in a different colour. As the configurator doesn't have the option and I've never seen it in pics or anything in any real car, I thought it wasn't at all available. IMO it should have been a standard option as in many previous cars.

I have looked and looked and have not seen one car with the lower dash in a different color. I dont know if the $2,567 is the reason. I love the two tone of the CS and I hope mine looks as sharp.

I found some pics of the basically the first interior I ordered before I changed to my final order. Like I said.. on a red car it feels a little too much.

Your final spec looks much nicer. I wish we could get the daytona sport seats in the US though.

Some very bold choices you have made for your 458 there! The solid red in the middle of the sport seats does look better than the mixed red/black on the standard seats. Still I like the middle part of the door panel in red alcantara as shown in the old pictures you found, instead of just red on the armrest. Red panel insert on the door sort of continues on the look of the red from the lower part of the dash. Something that wasn't really picked up by others after the CS production ended...
Red alcantara headliner would be wild to but not on the vertical panel behind the seats. Anyway that's my 2 Cents!

Will the sport sills be gray or body color?

The red panel inserts flowing into the lower dash was the original idea.. I just chickened out and went with the armrests. The sports sills are the dark gray.
    Thanks for the feedback!

    Robert,

Congratulations on ordering your new 458. Hopefully they will get it to you in January! I will not be getting a 458 anytime soon but will be getting a 430 in the next couple of months and if you are trading in your 430 or selling it privately I would be interested in learning more about it and seeing more pictures. I will send you a PM as well.

My dealer gave me an update...... Status 70! It's built and being driven around the test track.

I can't wait to see what it looks like! It's possible that it could be here for Christmas!

There are so many ways to configure the interior, that configurator can't cover them all. I got as close as I could with the cofigurator and then I sketched out the rest. It takes a couple of phone calls and a confirmation email between your dealer and FNA, but you can basically have any interior variations you want. For example you could have 2 different colors of stitching, or alternating alcantara and leather seat panels. As a side note the Dk Gray wheels aren't in the configurator either, but one phone call and they can be added to your config. Seems like it should be easier, but just make the dealer do most of the work and it's almost fun.

    Great spec. Congrats.

Yeah, the Ferrari configuration process leaves a lot to be desired. At least now that I am on my second Ferrari, I know the right sorts of things to ask for.

The online configurator is pretty weak and may be more of a toy to allow us boys to play around and build a dream car.

When I was in Pebble Beach for the Concourse, Ferrari invited us to see the 599 Aperta. They had a large flat screen with a much more powerful configurator that could handle almost any custom request. It was amazing! This could be what the Alterier (sp?) is using now at the factory and from what the Ferrari person said, dealers will be getting one in the future.

My dealer notified me that my car just landed at the service dept.!!! Not going to be able to sleep tonight! I guess it will take till Monday or Tuesday to go through the PDI. I am also having them lower it while its there. Clear bra and detailing after. I will check if they will let me see it at service and try to take some pics!

Couldn't find the time to make it to Ferrari service yesterday because of work so they shot a few pics with their phone. All I can say is that it turned out the way I dreamt it! The general manager at Auto Gallery is a great guy and went personally to go look at it. He said it looks amazing in the flesh.

Cant wait till Monday to go see it!!
