Glad you liked it. Best mod I have done to the 430. Still in the muffler discussions now.

Anders, forget the mufflers, the 430 already sounds brilliant I even took my 100 cell cats off and went back to OEM (but I did leave them on the CS). The LED's lights is the 430 Mod of the year!!!!

Great for the feedback of the leds. That's something I'm gonna install soon too.

Lilleprins, I hope you got your oxygen sensors fixed. Richard is right, standard cats+muffler is very good on the F430. I always drive it with the exhaust valves unplugged and the sound is fantastic + a bit more power and better engine response. I only consider to change the headers + all the exhaust brackets with aftermarket. Brackets are the mean weakness of the F430 and are the cause of the header issues.

Richard, was it easy to slide them inside the headlight? Didn't they break as it is slightly bended?

No the diods won´t break, but grind the leading edge a bit and they slide in more easily.

Got my Fabspeed manifold working and everything is OK. But for me the sound is too loud. Tried to combine the manifold with a X-Ost silent muffler. Still too loud.
I am living in an area where it is impossible to have that noicy cars. Had a Capristo on my Boxster and always trouble with the local police.

So - if I can´t find a more quiet muffler - I will change back to the standard manifold with pre cats. Any idea?

Aftermarket brackets - where can I find these? Noticed when I changed the manifold that the brackets to the gearbox were weak and flexed a lot. I didn´t thought there were any aftermarket parts and started to think of making the original ones more stiff. Would save a couple of hours if I can buy them.

    regards

    Anders

Now that didn't turn out to be half as bad as I thought it'd look. Nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Anders for your advice about the leds.

Did you change the cats also or only the headers? If you bought also the Fabspeed sportcats, I would first remove them because the diameter of their cats is well too small which makes the engine screaming like hell of suffering. If you changed only the headers, what was your purpose then? More power and freeflowing exhaust? I don't know any quieter muffler than the stock one. Maybe you can use Capristo's heatshields with would maybe also reduise the noise?

It's good that your exhaust bracket weakened a bit. Don't make it stiffer because that's exactly the whole problem on the F430 exhaust line: it's fixed well too stiff and with the heat, the line can't expand. That's why, the headers start failing because of all the pressure going back to the them. Capristo has his own exhaust brackets system to resolve this issue. You can mount them on the stock exhaust line. Contact Antonio or his assistant Elaine [[email protected]]. They are extremely helpfull and not trying to sell you bull**** as some other aftermarket guys do. Antonio&Elaine have been very transparent and helpfull in explaining me so many things about the exhaust system and about which mistakes not to make. Don't hesitate to drop them a line.

Very nice Richard! Thanks for sharing. Order at Ikea done... I'll be next ;-)

Which tape or product did you use to fill up the holes? Anders used some butyl tape. Did you use the same?

I bought the Fabspeed 200 catalyst also, but started with changing the manifold to hear what the sound was all about. Then I intended to change the catalys aswell. I will not use
the Fab Cat now. Already to loud.

So now I have Fab Manifold / Standard Cat. / X-Ost muffler. And it is way too loud.
Thought of getting some small silencers on the prim/sec outlet pipes, but it will probably not be enough.

Will call Capristo and hear about the brackets and if they might have a solution for me.

Seems that I am the only one that wants a more quite car. A high pitch quite car.

If I can´t find anything I will switch back to the standard system and standard manifold.

We are far away from Angel Eayes now. Maybee a new thread with a wish for a more silent car.

    Hi Anders,
I installed Agency Power heders, Capristo Test Pipes and a Capristo Twin Sound Exhaust. It was insane loud, I mean Insane!. I decided to install my stock cats and it become the perfect combo ever. It sounds just perfect and I got back that low end torque. When I had the test pipes the car just felt like a 4 cylinders toyota and I had to push the gas almost all half way to move the car.
Hope this help you on your serach. By the way I own a 360 Modena.

What about soldering a connector or something on the end of the LEDs so you can plug it into the stock bulb holder and fill the hole with what was supposed to be there???

Anyone place these in the engine bay??

Do you think they can tolerate the heat???

I don´t think it is a good idea. Now you can press the diods as long as possible - to stop - and then fix them in that position. If you solder them to the bulb holder you will have to neasure very carefully so they are fixed both front and rear end. Otherwise they can possible rattle around.
Whats wrong with butyl tape? They use to glue frond windows with it.

Thanks. I just droped them a line. Buying the brackets but also 2 of their new valves.
Checked mine standard ones. They don´t close totaly. Took 2 tennisballs and pressed them into secondary tubing. Car was much more quite. Tried to adjust the valves, but I think the butterfly is leaking a lot even if you force them to close. Will be nice to see if I am right - when I cut the pipe to weld in the new ones.

    Thanks again.

Nothing wrong with the tape, just trying to think of a tidier way to fill the space and without the need to cut wires in the lights, wouldn't have thought it'd be that hard to measure the right length. I might give this a try sometime, great mod :)

On the 360 the park bulb is not in the far corner like in the 430 , but rather in the middle.... so it will take major modifications in the headlamp unit for it to work... so No it wont work :(

Received the DIODER lights today. In fact, I had those already installed at home in different rooms but I would never have guessed to install this in my F430 :). Will install them next weekend. I bought also some silicone the fill both ends of the rail so that no water vapor can penetrate them. The silicone will also be used to fill the space left at the end and to avoid them to rattle (instead of butyl tape which I couldn't find easily). I'll try to avoid to cut the wires from the bulb holder if this is possible, will let you know. I had a look also how to install a led rail under the dash and there must be a solution. The ceiling light timer (M032) is located under the dash near the steering wheel and pin 1 of the timer ECU is connected to pin 1 of the ceiling lights. I need to find out if pin 1 is a power source or a kind of signal because the ceiling lights get the power also from fuse PSF15 (15A). PSF15 powers also the glove compartiment light and front door step lights.

    Doesn't it add weight?

JK, very cool, I am usually not interested in modding stuff but this I might just have to do.
