Before I drive up to see the car, I wonder if anyone has had a chance to see it in person, and check the service history.

Based on the asking price, I would imagine it's (over)due for a service. Maybe a trade-in before the prior owner had to pay for it?

    thanks in advance!

I've seen the car in person, its not perfect. It needs a little tlc, trim pieces, leather shrinkage, and its dirty. It probably needs alot of the interior plastics redone. I havent driven it or heard it run, so I dont know anything other than that. If you come to see it make sure you check the headers, cats and service history. Very important! I put over 15K into mine in the past year and a half, and mine had 7k miles when I got it. They have had it for a while so you might get a good deal on it. Good luck.

Did you expect to put this much into the car when you bought it or did bad things happen along the way. I am looking at 1999 355s and rather pay for a move in ready car than a fixer-upper. I am thinking a car that has been driven with full service history that just had a major done should be good to go. Is this just a pipe dream????? Thanks.....Steve

I started hearing a funny noise at idle, thought it was the cats. Had fabspeed cats installed $2200. They told me the car might have a manifold leak, so I figured I would have the major service done at that time. Universal Autosports did the 30k service ($8k). While the motor was out they installed the new fabspeed headers ($3k). Then I was told the ECU should be tuned for the new hi flow cats and headers, so out came the ECU. That was sent to Evolution Motorsports ($2k). I hope I'm done with the engine work for a while. I also had the interior plastics refinished by stickynomore.com ($1600.00). I think thats it. Other than that stuff, the car is great!

will the 348 and 355 be worth more than a 360 and 430 in a few years?

I think those who truly admire the car will own it no matter what. I didn't think once about owning a 360, doesn't matter to me if it's cheaper to service.

True but for that reason it will keep them out of classic status for a while ...it never has deterred many from buying one ...
