He didn't own it but it was parked there and being offered for sale on behalf of the owner.

    How did it drive?

Did U buy it from Symbolic?

Was the blue car behind it ever in Houston?

I brokered the car from my client (who bought the car from Symbolic) to the present owner. I drove the car extensively and loved every minute. The car is in terrific mechanical condition due to extensive mechanical restoration carried out in Italy for the previous (Japanese) owner who Symbolic acquired the car from.

I don't know. It has been on the cover of Cavallino, shown at Pebble Beach etc., but it lived in the North East before I got it. To my knowledge it hasn't been in Houston, but who knows as these things do get around!

Yes, Autosport Designs (Tom P.) had the car for quite some time a number of years back.

You are correct. It came to me VIA a broker from Tom P's client.

0024/M has not been back to Italy since 1956. None of the restoration and repair work was ever done there.

All work was done here in the States and the UK.

    Cheers,

    Bill

I was told that only the mechanicals went back there. Perhaps I was misled? In any event, it ran beautifully and was quite sound mechanically.

SAME CAR. It was originally a Barchetta by Touring that was re-bodied by Vignale as a coupe in period. It was returned to Barchetta configuration with 1980's restoration and reproduced Barchetta bodywork. A very detailed dossier that chronicles this restoration comes with the car. I believe it is priced accordingly.

If I remember correctly, at one time, Mike Hawthorn's car?

Seeing as this car disappeared from Sheehan's site, what about the other 166 he had for sale (Spider Corsa 014I) as it too disappeared after being listed for quite some time (although the ad is still running in the current FML)...

Yes, 0143E is most well known for being Mike Hawthorn's personal car.
